Update Etc.

Just some quick notes and a couple videos I think y'all will enjoy.

* I hope that I'm going to be feeling better soon. I called Dr. Maria and talked to her nurse and she called back to tell me that a scrip for an antibiotic would be waiting for me at my pharmacy. Hallelujah!!!

* I'm still fighting bureaucracy -- the agency in question is nutty. I'm ready to go viral on this. I -- unlike a lot of others -- always make sure that I have my paperwork in order and I did. THEY obviously made a mistake when sending my info to AEP and I'll be damned if I stand in the cold for hours to wait for them -- especially since I'm not well.

* This is fabulous and definitely worth your time. Rachel plays 'Pin the Tail on the Debt' and you'll be surprised at the results. So much for 'fiscal responsibility'



* Does anyone but me think Dancing with the Stars has lost any credibility it ever had due to the Palinbots' downright cheating? And somehow I don't think being an unwed mother makes you a star no matter who your mama is. And yeah, I think she's preggers again -- her face is fuller and there's a definite bump. Most contestants lose weight doing that show. So much for abstinence. And I don't watch the show -- I watch the news clips.

* Here's the latest song rattling around my brain this week. I always liked The 5th Dimension -- they had a great energy and always looked like they were having a lot of fun. Back in the day my friends and I thought this song terrific. It brings back memories of when life was less complicated. It can still get me out of my chair to boogie a little! LOL Enjoy!!!!

Just Some Thoughts and Blast from the Past

* I'm tired of hearing the Tea Party and the Teabaggers scream that they want their country back.

What if the Native Americans decided to rally and say that they want their their country back? Even if one buys the Bering Strait theory, the bottom line is that they were here first.

* Rush Limbaugh again confirms what a nut case he really is with this this amazingly stupid comment:



* I was wondering when someone would use this word regarding the talking heads at Faux News and they finally did . . .



From Dictionary.com: sedition: 1.incitement of discontent or rebellion against a government. 2.any action, esp. in speech or writing, promoting such discontent or rebellion.

'Nuff said.

* I've noticed that our nice young Congressman is getting a lot attention from the media deservedly. That he has a calm and rational style, shoots straight from the hip, and is kinda cute probably accounts for it. I really am proud of this bill that he introduced.



Enough of the nuttiness of the big bad world! Today is busy with assorted nonsense and bureaucracy.

A bit of humor: Jeff is barely Internet literate and learned a new trick: He has discovered YouTube and sent this oldie clip of a song we loved from the summer of 1966 when we met. Were we really ever that young? Or that thin? LOL

Old TV -- Cowboys! (Part 1)

In the early days of television the Old West was very much present and very popular. In fact my dad pronounced one night a week 'NBC' as in "nothing but cowboys". He wasn't complaining -- he liked westerns as much as I did!

* My absolute favorite cowboy was Richard Boone as Paladin on "Have Gun will Travel". (I never did get the Paladin gun and holsters set I wanted so badly.) I think the show was more famous for it's theme song and all of us kids could sing it -- could you? -- so I included it instead of a clip.



Also, here's is Boone in one of the funniest appearances on "What's My Line" I ever saw.

* Dad and I were great fans of James Arness as Matt Dillon in "Gunsmoke" This clip includes Dennis Weaver as everyone's favorite sidekick, Chester. (Note how much bigger Matt's horse is than the others -- they had to find extra large horses to accomodate Arness' height -- my kind of guy!)



The gambling Maverick brothers, Brett (James Garner) and Bart (Jack Kelly) provided comic relief in the world of TV westerns. Here's a clip with a very young Roger Moore as a guest star. Then again, have y'all seen Jim Garner lately? :)
