Old TV -- Comedies (Part 4)

There were so many comedies that I really couldn't include them all but a couple came to mind this week that I wanted to share.

"My Little Margie" was a family favorite at our house. Her antics were always good for a giggle.

Everybody's favorite teacher was "Our Miss Brooks" -- her antics kept us laughing. In this clip, a special guest makes an appearance.

"Topper" was always a hoot as Leo G. Caroll is haunted by two charming and wacky ghosts played by Anne Jeffreys and Robert Sterling!

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!

We'll look at other genre of early television in the weeks ahead -- barring distractions, of course.

Happy Blogging!!!!!!

Kay

  1. I can remember all those shows. I loved "Topper." Even as a child I liked ghosts, and goblins, and things that go bump in the night. I also liked "Private Secretary,"
(Ann Sothern), "Oh, Suzanna," (Gale Storm), and "Love That Bob" with Bob Cummings.

  2. I was only allowed to listen to a little radio until 1954. Later I was allowed to watch TV if we were eating in a bar that had one. Bar's always had TV's.

  3. What a great walk down memory lane. I do believe Our Miss Brooks has a strong influence on my desire to be a teacher. Looking forward to more old discoveries.

  4. Loved that special guest appearance by Desi, Chica! Did I ever tell you he went to school with my great-grandfather in Santiago, Cuba? They were friends, but not good ones.

  6. I remember "My Little Margie" on the radio, and I thought Eve Arden was the most amazing woman going, but knew her first from radio too.

There's a certain to old films or TV series. The film that I really wanted to see again was Shirley Temple's Little Princess. I saw it when I was 12 on cable and I really wanted to see it again.

  10. I remember each of them and enjoyed watching them so much.

My husband and I often watch I Love Lucy, and some of the old westerns just to remember what great tv was all about.

    Nice post.

  15. I, too, loved Topper. Although it came along later my all time favorite comedy was All In The Family. It was a spin off of a British comedy. Archie Bunker and his dim witted wife Edith were absolutely a riot.
