Game Day!

It's Game Day!!!!!! At noon -- today I will be firmly planted in front of the television (hopefully surrounded by like-minded friends) for the kickoff of the annual meeting of The Ohio State University and the University of Michigan. It's one of those games where records, stats, etc. can just be ignored -- none of those matter! Anything can happen.

That said, I found this list that shows how long it's been since Michigan won --
2,192 days. It really sort of surprised me.

The Last Time Michigan Beat Ohio State in Football:

•Kanye West hadn’t released his debut album yet.
•George W Bush was in his first term as President.
•The Boston Red Sox still hadn’t won a World Series title in 85 years.
•The Madrid Train Bombings hadn’t yet happened.
•The Abu Ghraib scandal hadn’t yet been made public
•LeBron James had played in only 13 NBA games
•Ronald Reagan was still alive
•The Statue of Liberty was still closed to the public in the wake of 9/11
•The TV series "Lost" was still only in development phase
•The Washington Nationals were the Montreal Expos
•The Malice in the Palace had not yet happened

Here's "Script Ohio" (without a camera man getting in the way. It's really my favorite of the OSU Marching Band's routines!!!!!!

And here's a commercial I found that left me giggling!!! I hope y'all do, too!

Happy Blogging and Gooooooooooooooo Buckeyes!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Good luck, Kay. I don't share your enthusiasm for football, but I hope your team wins.

  2. You can call your band the best "college" band as long as it doesn't interfer with my grandson's band being the BEST high school band. LOL

Hope today is a great win and great fun.

Oh and on your post yesterday you mentioned the nurse returning your call when you were gone. I believe doctor's offices know the minute we step away from our phones after we have waited hours and hours for that call!

  3. Ohio has a great marching band. I am not a sports fan so the best part of the game for me is half time.

Will we be seeing the Ohio Marching Band in the Rose Bowl parade?

  4. Excuse me, Kay. I'm confused. I thought the game was Saturday. Did you write this Friday for Saturday? The Buckeyes won, right? I'm not so into sports, but Hubby sure is.

  7. Yeah! This Script Ohio always triggers an emotional tear or two for me because of the memories it triggers. Funny commercial, too.

Bucs are Rose Bowl bound and expect they'll be accompanied by the marching band for the Rose Parade.

I don't have plans to attend the Rose Parade this year as I did last year, but sure is tempting.
