Getting Hyped

I'm getting things done so I can enjoy Saturday's game. Couple folks said they might come by so I guess I'd best get some extra snacks and more beer at the groc shop on Friday. And if no one shows up, I'm gonna be somewhat annoyed.

* Today I played with my new software and actually recalled most of what I needed it to do and how to do it.

* I had an amazing 'senior moment'. I was out picking up a scrip ( only $3.99!) and a few other things and I decided to get one of the $5.01 combos at Arby's to take home for supper as I was starving and didn't want to wait. I placed my order and pulled up to the drive-thru window and handed the young lady my debit card. Then she handed me back my debit card and I pulled away and headed for home! I was halfway home when I reached across to the passenger's seat to snitch a curly fry and realized that I had no food!!! Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhh I turned around (no, I didn't do a u-turn) and went back to Arby's with my face glowing red above my OSU t-shirt and got my food. Alzheimer's? Dementia?

* And to those who wrote or left a comment: It took a long time until my ex and I could get along -- and it's more like an armed truce.

AND Buckeye Week continues with this from the Columbus Dispatch's Buckeye Extra:

"Days since Michigan’s last victory over Ohio State in football: 2188"

But who's counting -- right?

Here's a popular, funny traditional song in Ohio -- especially Columbus! It's been over 40 years since I sang it with my friends on High Street while wobbling in my shoes!!!

Happy Blogging and Gooooooooooooo Buckeyes!

  1. You should tell your friends that you have a BYOS (Bring Your Own Snacks) policy if they cannot give you a firm commitment to watch the ballgame.

  5. I've forgotten stuff too and had to go back. Now, I recheck to make sure I have everything from the credit card to the bag or bags.
(sigh) it was easier when I forgot and went back :)

  6. Gee, it wasn't long ago I walked off without my purchase after paying and the clerks came running after me.

I like to think we had so much more important stuff on our minds that we couldn't be expected to remember to take our purchase. You don't think so??? Oh, well, I tried.

I like that idea of offering a site, then telling everyone that wants to come to bring some stuff to share with all. Then you don't have to do it all.

Better to go off without a meal than to do as I did a few years ago. After I got home, I discovered that the clerk had failed to give me the $60+ change back from my grocery purchased (obviously, I unfortunately had to pull out my "reserve" big bill to make the purchase). Although the clerk swore that there was nothing he could do about my plight when I returned (he didn't remember not giving me the change), a woman who was more experienced and knew the ropes told me that she would have his money drawer audited at the end of his shift. She got the money back to me. Good things happen to us forgetful folks, sometimes!
