Arrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhh!!!!!!!

I decided this morning that I was determined to get my new computer up and running today. Now I'm wondering why. Sigh.

I've decided that there are reasons I have a love/hate relationship with new computers. First, you have to figure out what needs to be saved and transferred to the new computer. Then you have to figure out all the other stuff like how to hook everything up. AND then you have to do all this you-know-what. And to top it all off, I get to learn Vista! We are not amused.

Right now Kay is turning the air here a lovely shade of blue. If you're a non-techie like me, all this is, at best, confusing and you need help. Dell's highly-touted support is at best overwhelming and I'll be damned if I can get hold of anyone without 87 numbers that I can't find anywhere -- just to get to ask a simple question!

What I'm saying here is that I am trying to set up my new computer and I might even get it done sometime in this century! I just sent a 911 email to Winston and hopefully he can tell me what I need to know about connecting the DSL stuff. Dell didn't send me a manual -- just disks. Sigh. Needless to say I am more than mildly annoyed -- a gross understatement at best.

Soooooo gentle blogging friends, if the Groaner of the Week doesn't appear tomorrow, it's because I'm lost in the wilds of Installation Land looking for a handsome prince to save me. Hell! I'll settle for a big nasty-looking toad if he knows his stuff! He might even get a kiss!

See y'all if/when I ever surface!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Blogging!!!!!!!!!

Kay

You have my sympathies and I wish I could send you that handsome computer geek that would smile, install, and make you eternally grateful. If wishes were only possible....

I do not, I do not, I do not want to have to deal with Vista.

Please let my old pc keep running so i can use it for the few things I don't do on my mac.

    I love my mac.

Did I say I love my mac?

I do. I love my mac.

  4. Oh, everyone's nightmare Kay. Good luck. I wish I was more techie-wise too. The thought of something going wrong with my computer or programs I use daily scares the bejeebers our of me.

  5. Thanks for all the support, gals!

I survived it -- with help from Winston -- it wasn't that difficult but I'm such a nervous Nellie about tech stuff that I needed some moral support. I get visions hitting the wrong key and my computer exploding! lol

What annoyed me most that asking a simple question from tech support was sooooo difficult!!!!
