Today is Women's Wednesday in the Obama campaign and women (and men!) are coming together across the country to support the many issues so important to women and those who love them. Sooooooooooooo I'm giving y'all some of the great stuff that I've collected about women. Enjoy!!!!! I want to try to spend today and tomorrow getting to visit y'all after I get back from the orthopedist -- I fell the other day and I think I broke a toe. All I know is that it hurts a lot! Sigh. And if y'all can, lend a hand or a couple of bucks to your local campaign.
Former Florida Republican Gov. Charlie Crist (now a registered Independent) threw his support behind President Obama in an op-ed for the Tampa Bay Times on Sunday:
"As Republicans gather in Tampa to nominate Mitt Romney, Americans can expect to hear tales of how President Obama has failed to work with their party or turn the economy around. But an element of their party has pitched so far to the extreme right on issues important to women, immigrants, seniors and students that they've proven incapable of governing for the people."
Susan B. Anthony speaks the truth:
Another reason I wish I could vote for Elizabeth Warren . . .

I hope this becomes a groundswell . . .
And here's the President on women's rights and opportunities . . .
And last, but never least, the late great George Carlin tells it like it is in two minutes (and yeah, he cusses just like I do when I think of the GOP) . . .
Hope y'all are having a great day!!!!!
Happy Blogging!!!!!!

Gender politics has always made me uneasy but you can't mistake the intent these days
ReplyDeleteExactly right.
ReplyDeleteStill lonely for campaign connection in my taken-for-granted blue state of Oregon. Am going to call them about this: signed up for a "women for Obama" and even with attention from local congressman's aide, the silence lingers. Take care of that toe, Kay, maybe slow down the gait?
ReplyDeleteSlows me down but doesn't stop me!!! Do try the women for Obama group. Our group is younguns and elders and it's fun. Ohio is crazy right now!!!
DeleteThanks Kay....take care of your toe. Not a lot you can do for a broken toe but tape it to the next one for support. Hope it heals quickly. ~Joy
ReplyDeleteThis was a little weirder than a break -- it left a red spot under the skin that appeared to be blood which is why I saw the doc. I'm to watch it and call if it gets weirder. All I know is that it hurts.
DeleteHahaha! George Carlin is funny!
ReplyDeleteLet's get 'r done ;)
Hope it heals fast, Kay!
