Dysfunctional Blogging?????

I promised myself that I would get a post up and get around to visit y'all today but after hours of fighting with my computer and finally checking with my tech type, it seems that that's not possible. Firefox is all messed up (and slower than molasses in January) and making it all but impossible to get anything done. I'm giving up after hours of frustration. Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to do more but it's a 'big push' weekend for Obama and since I just got a promotion to Data captain, I'm prolly gonna be locked up at Obama HQ all weekend. Kidding, of course -- sorta -- but yeah, I'll be busy as I signed for at least eight hours. Sigh.

Just for fun, here's Carrie "Princess Leia" Fisher roasting George Lucas -- the genius behind Star Wars -- at the AFI Lifetime Achievement Awards dinner . . .

Enjoy!!!!

Hope y'all are having a great day!!!!!!!

Happy Blogging!!!!!!

Kay

  1. Given the importance of this election, I think what you are doing is far more important than getting around to us on our blogs. We'll still be here and Ohio is really a key state for November; so don't feel guilty. Just glad you can be doing it.

    Loved the video, Kay.

Congratulations! One of these days you'll have to share with us what the heck a "Data Captain" is/does!

Please have fun while you're working hard.

    1. Hell if I know what a data captain is -- I think it's a pat on the head for being a dedicated worker. One of the things I like about the campaign is that it's wonderfully organized and they are genuinely appreciative and supportive of the workers. I am constantly getting "Atta girl" emails -- ostensibly from Obama and Joe. I've worked on a lot of campaigns over the years and this is the best and most thoughtful one I've ever worked on -- everyone is just great!

Glad you liked Carrie, if you have Netflix, get her hit one-woman show -- "Wishful Drinking" where she talks about her struggle with drugs -- it's interesting and really funny. She is an amazing person who has overcome a lot.

    2. Let me try this again. My comment disappeared before I could hit the button. Sometimes the best reaction to computer problems is to turn it off and back away for a while. Sounds like your campaign work is rewarding. Hopefully it will be productive. I would really like to see Mitt and his fellow Repthuglicans handed their asses this fall.

    3. Gotta love computers. And yeah, I'm having fun -- mostly -- with all this and yeah, Mitts going down according to the latest numbers.

  4. May I suggest in place of Firefox you try Google Chrome. I gave up on firefox a number of years ago.

    1. Tried it; hated it. Ex (techie extraordinaire) called with a two-minute fix (he was having problems, too) and I'm in good shape.

    1. See what I said to GFB. I think Carrie is a hoot! I thought her mom okay -- loved her in "Singin' in the Rain" and "The Unsinkable Molly Brown".

  6. "Atta girl" for working on the Obama campaign. You should get a medal. But following up on GFB and Lorna, I tried Chrome, and it didn't work too well for me. Mebbe I need to try again. Cheers!

  7. So glad to hear that you are dedicating so much time and energy to the campaign. The key to the election this year is to be sure that the Dems who voted last time get out to vote again. If they don't, it's lost. Go get 'em!

  8. I was going to sleep, but then I watched your video and had so much fun I started watching more of the roasts. Too funny! Now... I gotta go to sleep! Have a great Sunday, Kay.

    1. I do that all the time. Glad you liked it! Carrie -- like me -- has been through hell and can laugh about it and that's what being a survivor is all about.

  11. I'm giving you a big break this summer so you don't need to worry about visiting...off to Florida soon, yes, to all that heat and muggy-ness, since they still allow to come "home" now and again. You know what I worry about most? other than having to take the kiddies to D=world I mean? The part we'll be in will be all tea party republicans....eihhhhhhhhhhhhh! Pray for me! And keep working there in Ohio! I luvs you for it!
