Home Again

I am home. Home is good. Now I have the monumental task of getting back to my regular routine and catching up with y'all!!!!

It was a good trip. After starting with a massive rain storm here, as I headed north the weather got better and by the time I got to Bellevue, it was absolutely lovely with almost too warm weather and blue skies. At Bellevue, I met Gene and we had an excellent lunch at an excellent Mexican restaurant. Gene, who comments here and at a lot of other blogs, is a delight and we talked like we'd known each other for an eternity. She was delighted with the box of chocolates I brought her from our local chocolatier and I was delighted with the eggs she brought for Barb and I from their farm. I love meeting my blogging friends -- it confirms my belief that all y'all are just friends that I haven't met yet!

Barb and I had an excellent visit. We really didn't do a lot so I didn't take a lot of photos (I also forgot about pictures when I met Gene. Sigh.) She hasn't felt well and really didn't feel like wandering around too much so other than shopping trips, some excellent meals out, and going to the cemetery where we tidied up Dad's grave, we really didn't do too much except talk a lot. I brought her chocolates, too, and she -- like Gene -- was an instant aficionado. I'll spare y'all the terrors of the Bridge from Hell and just say that it was an adventure (gross understatement).

Barb is a political junkie, too, so we followed the news and discussed it a lot. She hates Sarah Palin and was absolutely appalled with her intrusion at the Run For the Wall and was pretty disgusted with Anthony Weiner's antics but aren't we all? Then again, that's another blog.

Today, I'll be getting things unpacked, doing some needed chores (unpacking) and errands, and heading to see the endocrinologist -- hopefully, he'll explain why I'm so tired all the time.

The main focus, however, is getting around to see y'all and seeing all the wonderful things y'all have been doing!!!!

Happy Blogging!!!!!!!!!!

Kay

  9. Wish I could have been there for the political talks. I would have joined in the chorus of the "I hate you,' Sarah Palin song.

I have a dream of some day taking the car and the dogs and heading out to meet all my favorite bloggers. You would be among my first stops.

  11. Maria: Awwwwwwww shucks! You are toooo sweet!!!

Joe: Woodville is worse! A creative soul even opened a restaurant called The Speedtrap Cafe on the edge of town. I had to stop there once after it opened because my dad got caught there and recall a battle royal over his screw up. It has pretty good food!

  13. I'm glad you had a good trip, Kay. It's just the coming home part that is always hard, although if you are like me, I'm always ready to come home when I do. There simply is no place like home--all the familiar stuff and routine.
