I Wish Catchup Came in Bottles Like Heinz!

Yet again, I am kicking myself in the asker for not keeping up with my home work (read: housework). AND, as usual, I'm swearing on my prayer book, rosary and Bible that I will never ever fall behind again. I'm also swearing that I can hear Jesus, Mary and all the saints laughing at me. They've heard all this before.

However, I did get a lot done today. I always do the kitchen and bath first because these are the rooms I hate the most. After those, the rest is easy or at least easier. I worked in other rooms while I was waiting for floors, etc., to dry. It never ceases to amaze me what messes a so-called adult can make. Living in an ancient house doesn't help -- I swear there's dust from the '30 that keeps creeping out. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll be 95% finished barrimg unforeseen circumstances.

* Alex and Jeff invited me to dinner tomorrow night -- I'm betting that it will be catered. Neither can cook worth a damn. Then again, maybe they want ME to cook. I wish them lotsa luck. Until this place looks fit for humans, the only thing I'm making for dinner is reservations or sandwiches. (I wouldn't want to mess up my nice clean kitchen, now would I?)

* I'm hoping to go see Jamie Foxx in "The Soloist" over the weekend. I've heard nothing but good things about it. Who knows? Depending on what's playing, I might do a film festival here again!!!!

* My friend Lynda is having a fund-raiser for her gallery Friday night and I'm trying to muster the troops to go. It's called 'Have Your Cake and Eat It, Too!' And in addition to some wonderful cakes to taste and judge, it's going to feature some paintings by former Cleveland Indian Omar Vizquel who is a very accomplished artist. He doesn't usually allow his paintings to be shown but the owners told him about Lynda's work with children and he was pleased to okay the showing. Cool, huh?

And oh yeah, I didn't work my you-know-what off without musical comedy. Today's selection was the movie version of "My Fair Lady" and yeah, Julie Andrews got robbed but I do love Audrey Hepburn and I really thought this scene and song fun!!!

Hopefully, I'll be back tomorrow with something fun!!!!!

Happy Blogging!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. When you get that kitchen clean, just shut it off from the rest of the house and stay out of it. Then you won't have to clean it so often, or at least work so hard at it. Unfortunately, I can't recommend you take the same tack with the bathroom. When you get done, why don't you head out here -- my place is a mess.

I did enjoy The Soloist movie. An L.A. Times columnist/critic who knows the writer who befriended the real life musician character wrote an article after the movie came out. He was taking the movie to task for making the writer into a much more colorful character than was accurate (according to him.) Who knows, I don't.

  2. By Jove shes got it!

Way to go with the big cleanup too.

I remember when Omar played and sunk my Jays a few times.

  3. You're very busy, sis. I need to clean house, too. Since I've been working so much, the house suffers. I am amazed at how dirty it can get with only 2 of us here (just like you).....LOL

  4. As long as you're on a roll... my house could use some clean up - - -

  5. I feel for you. It is awful when resolve kicks in then starts to wane. You know you're losing your grip but there it goes anyway. I think I would prefer Catch-up in a spray bottle like Windex. LOL

  6. I sympathize on the cleaning situation. Mom and I say that we clean when the spirit moves us and thankfully it doesn't move too often. This March was the first time in ten years that we did a thorough spring cleaning. Otherwise, we run the vacuum every once in a while, sweep the kitchen sometime, and dust when we can write our names in it. Cut yourself some slack, Kay.

  7. just remember Kay, "clean enough to be healthy" that's what counts, and that does not mean you can eat off the floor!!

We're enduring the dust of having a huge retirement living complex built in what has been an open field behind us since we moved here 8 years ago --- I've given up fighting the dust! On the up side, I won't be fighting the invasive weeds in the yard this summer --- see? A good thing!!

    Be kind to yourself

  8. The older I get the less I worry about a clean house. If it is picked up and the kitchen and bath are clean, I just ignore the rest until I have a good day and feel energetic. That happens less and less often. ;-)

  9. I got to see "The Soloist" and thought that both Jamie Fox and Robert Downey Jr. did an outstanding job. What acting, what music and what scenes showing the homeless!

I don't want to spoil it for you so all I'll say is, there was a lot of conversation after the movie about the homeless people and how they think.

  10. I'm with Darlene there. Just the bare necessities satisfies my cleaning needs now. And I don't blame you for not wanting to mess up that kitchen--particularly the stove!
