Just a Couple Things . . .

I am a bit slow on blogging of late and I finally realized why. Yeah, I've been on overload but usually I manage reasonably well. However, my doctor took me off my thyroid medication (like the nodules went away) and I suspect that's what's causing me to need a nap several times a day and, even weirder, I don't seem to be able to sleep for more than a couple (2-4) hours at a time. This is not good. I am a busy, very involved woman who has a full array of obligations and commitments -- not the least of which is y'all. I'm also less sharp mentally as a result. Needless to say, I am not amused. I'll be doing some shouting in the morning.

* Look at the pretty new award in my sidebar that Steph over at
Incurable Insomniac designed and was kind enough to award me and several other women. I am honored. I'm thinking very hard about who I'd like to nominate.

* I went to First Friday with my friends again this past weekend and it was great fun. We did the galleries and toured the old Hotel Onesto which is soon to be restored to its former grandeur as upscale condos. I wish I could afford one. With a classy as they're making downtown, I'm thinking how cool it would be to live there with all the galleries, nice restaurants, and clubs opening. One landlord is restoring some old apartments and is renting them rather reasonably. I might go take a look and ask questions. My neighborhood friend, Lynda, who runs one of the galleries' art education center says that the 'hood needs me more so we'll see. She and another friend joined us at my place afterwards for wine and snacks. I'd forgotten how much I enjoy entertaining and socializing.

* I think y'all know that I am a true Independent politically and a staunch Constitutionalist. I believe in liberty, sound money, and avoiding entangling alliances. While the Republicans were holding their convention, Ron Paul's
Campaign for Liberty held a counter-convention right down the road called The Rally for the Republic. Dr. Paul was denied access to the floor convention despite his being a ten-term Congressman from Texas. The G.O.P. also refused to count the delegates he garnered during the primaries. Then again, what else would you expect from people who have backed a man who has all but suspended the Constitution for the past eight years? The Rally was well-covered on video and you can see them here. Here's an interesting video of an interview with Dr. Paul with Glen Beck that shows his common sense.

Happy Blogging!!!

I am amazed that your doctor took you off your thyroid meds.
I was told that I would have to continue my medication daily for the rest of my life.
I would be getting a second opinion from another endochronologist if it were me.
