Hypocrisy Thy Name is Mitt

When you live in Toledo, Ohio -- especially on the north side of town -- it's really sort of strange. Most of your television and media comes from Michigan and shopping trips across the border were common. The neighborhood where I grew up in the '50s was less than five miles from the border and my dad had a friend whose house straddled the border and joked that he slept with his feet in Michigan and his brain in Ohio.

The point of this is that I remember George Romney as a rather popular Governor of Michigan. He was known as a liberal Republican -- a term that has obviously gone the way of the dinosaur.

Here's a video that I hope will go viral that speaks volumes about Mitt and I can't help but feel that his parents would be ashamed of their son's hypocrisy -- not to mention the path that the Republican Party has taken.

I'm just going to let Mitt's mom talk . . .

Happy Blogging!!!!!!

  1. Just wrote you a long comment that promptly got lost in the netherworld somewhere. Won't try to repeat -- but enjoyed this post.

Wonder where ole Mitt would be today if his Dad hadn't had that govt. assistance?

    1. Not running for president, I'll bet!!!! I hate people who forget where they came from. I remember telling a long-time friend that maybe I shouldn't be so quick to judge people who forget where their roots lie because I've never had to deal with being rich. My friend said that knowing me, as she has for decades, that I'd still be the same person and would give lots of it away -- and I'd still be as frugal a shopper as I've always been -- once a Scot, always a Scot. 2. I am sure if his father was alive, he would have a good talk with Mitt about how he is trying to hurt the least fortunate among us. The apple fell from the tree, and rolled all the way down the hill.

    1. You could be right and I think that sweet lady who raised him taught him better than what he's doing now. I think she and George are weeping in heaven.

  3. I heard about this video but hadn't seen it. I love Motivated's comment about the bottom of the hill. I'll just add that he rolled through a lot of shit on this way down and still hasn't quit spreading it around!

    1. I couldn't agree with you more!! MIO and I both live in NE Ohio and our cities have been killed by the death of the devastation of the steel & auto industry. We're both angry old farts. LOL

  4. MIO is a fellow NE Ohioan and calls it like he sees it. I'm sure he would like what you said, too.
I think Mitt's mom would be ashamed.

  5. Did you see Bernie Sanders last night---(Friday) on Bill Moyers? It was quite sobering in every way. To me, Bernie is the only TRUE elected official that we have....We are living in very sad and scary times, where "lies" are taken for "truth" because they are repeated over and over and over.....HELP!!!!!!!!!!

  6. WOW! Thank you for that video Kay....even though it was upsetting to watch and listen. I don't think Mitt's parents ever thought their son would turn out like he has....and a liar to boot.

    1. Having run political campaigns, I know how easy it is to sell one's soul to Satan but I don't think Mitt ever had a second thought about it!!!

  10. I lived in Michigan when Romney was governor. The one thing I remember about Gov. Romney of Michigan was he made a trip to Vietnam and came back to the states declaring that we didn't belong there. For that I was thankful. I think that the son is grabbing at money, party support, bait and switch techniques, and any thing else that might get him the presidency. Too bad and yes what would his father think. -- barbara

  11. I'm wondering if the pharmaceutical industry has seen a rise in blood pressure medication since Mr. Romney threw his hat in the ring. My money says there's been a substantial spike! Nature Weaver
