Update, etc. . . .

It's still pretty hectic here and I'm trying hard to keep up with everything going on with y'all -- and prolly failing miserably as I am in all my endeavors lately.  I do appreciate that your patience and loyalty.

Jeff is out of the hospital and recovering nicely from his heart surgery.  Alec (his dad)  thinks that he needs to go to Florida to recover and I agree  but the problem is getting Shaughnessy down there but we're working on that. The beach and golf are a great prescription for recovery.   The topic at hand is that the invitations to his annual open house were sent out before he got sick and he doesn't want to cancel it.  The answer?  Good old Kay to the rescue, of course. and she's not thrilled.  It really isn't a huge amount of work because it's catered and there's plenty of help but since we broke off our relationship, I'm not too comfortable with it. I'm doing it for Alec -- not him. Hopefully, it all will work out well.

Out of respect for my blood pressure I'm not going any where politics today.  As Jack Cafferty says, "It's getting ugly out there, folks!!!!"

I'm not into Christmas this year.  A couple things are getting on my last nerve but I'm going to be good and not whine about it. Michelle says that I'm joining them for Christmas. We'll see.  Don't get me started on the latest on my family -- I am not amused.

I'm off and running today on errands and assorted other nonsense but Christmas shopping is on hold.  I'm thinking that Wal-Mart at 3 AM on an insomnia might is the answer.

Hope y'all are having a great day!!!!

Happy Blogging!!!!!!!

Kay

  1. Take it a bit easy, Kay. As to the political situation, like constipation this too shall pass. Unfortunately, it is going to be unpleasant. Like you I simply have to turn it off or I will be on meds to lower my blood pressure. Having gone nearly 63 years without needing such, in spite of a family history of high blood pressure, I do not want to start now. Hope things settle down.

  4. I couldn't agree with you more, Kay, that politics is dismal -- especially this year. It's good to take a break from it!

Glad to hear Jeff is recovering nicely!

  7. You're a saint ... but can't Alec, or anyone else, help with the arrangements?

I know it's hard on the blood pressure, but keep punching at politics. Don't always agree with you, but always find your posts energizing and though-provoking.

  9. It really is getting ugly out there. I just read a bunch of vitriol about Obama on someone's Facebook and it amazed me. Does he deserve that much hatred? How in the world can you prefer Gingrich? I'm totally at a loss at understanding some people.

  10. 'What is the worst that can happen'.... if you don't agree to host the party? That's my standard litmas test. Be good to yourself.
