Update

Just an update to keep y'all informed because, for some reason, some of you actually worry about me and that astounds me.

* I am returning to work next week at the Census Bureau and (I'll be merciful and spare y'all the gories on that mess) so I have to get organized so I can be ready for my annual inspection for which they gave me only two weeks notice. Argh! Oh well. I'm just going to wing it. Nervous breakdowns are not permitted! I haven't time and will do it later when (if) things settle a bit.

* I'm also getting ready to do a porch sale soon so when the inspector comes, he's going to see my lil' den stacked with boxes of stuff that I think I can sell and books that are getting packed. I am the post-it note and list queen with reminders everywhere on everything.

* Jeff is delighted flights to Ireland are moving again. He usually goes every summer but hasn't been over there for almost two years because of his mother's
passing. He wanted me to go with him but I obviously can't. And yeah, I'm still thinking and he says it doesn't worry him too much because he knows me too well. (I wonder how long that will last since he isn't Job.) I suspect he thinks his being here is making it harder for me and he might be right.

* Thanks to all y'all who sent birthday wishes. I appreciate and love you madly.

* Here's a old video is an old favorite and describes my current mindset! LOL I know I'll get through it -- I just get tired of my life being testimony to Murphy's Law.

Hope y'all are having a great day!!!! I'll be around when I can!!!! (Breaks are a good thing!)

Happy Blogging!!!!!

Kay

See, I never thought Mick was all that good lookin', even back then, but he sure is a showman, wigglin' his cute lil' butt around even then!
Not sure what an inspection is all about, but good luck with it all. Hope you get everything done that needs doing. But take it easy, too.

  10. I was never really a Stones fan until way years later... when my daughter started calling it "Classic" rock.

I bought the Sticky Fingers album (on CD) and think it is one of the finest albums ever made! Each cut is rich and diverse. Remarkable album. I guess I had to age to appreciate it's artistry.

  12. Happy Belated Birthday, first of all, and CONGRATULATIONS on the job, Chica!! Great news!

A lot has happened since I last visited. I'm wondering who Jeff is.

PS - I need a porch sale. It seems the more I declutter the more I bring into the house. :(

Have a great day...and btw, you ARE pretty!! :)

  13. Good luck with your porch sale Kay. I should be having a big garage sale with all the stuff I don't need around here...but, I just can't face getting it together right now. Take care... ~Joy

  14. Only on your 19th nervous breakdown? I'm way past that. ;)

BTW, you do know Mick Jagger is Barney Fife's illegitimate son, don't you?

  15. Lia: Thanks!!!! It's almost a no-brainer -- just a lot of extra work!

Gigi: Only 10 weeks but I need the cash. And I have come too far to make a big mistake. 'Impulsive' has cost me dearly.

    Jan: Indeed!

    Bev: A long-time friend.

LTTS: Busy yes! And thanks! Most of the world missed my birthday.

AITBR: I never thought him good-loking either. However, he had panache & I'm a sucker for style!
I'll get there one way or another!

Judy: Same to you!!!! I'm waiting for better weather -- just getting organized now.

Naomi: No time for breakdowns! And thanks!

Robert: I liked the Stones just to fight back against my sister's obsession with the Beatles and it turned into a lifetime thing. I agree on the album!!!! Awesome!

    John: Thanks!!!!

Ily: Thanks!!!! Jeff is an old friend who pops up in my life a lot.

Joy: I don't relish it but I really need to get things more organized.

Colleen: So am I and I think Mick is, too. LOL Yes I did! Someone else said that "Sarah Palin is the result of a conjugal visit between
    Charles Manson and Anne Coulter."

  20. Maggie: I did better!!! I went to my friend's fund-raiser and had a blast -- did foolish things, danced, drank wine, hung out with the band, and wasted money -- all very un-Kay !!!! News at 11!!!!!

    Chas: I'm okay -- okay?

Lorna: tomorrow is another day. I need to wait for a photo!
