First, I want to thank all y'all for your lovely good wishes. However, all is not skittles and beer. I made the mistake of actually believing what a bureaucrat told me. Shame on me.
I went to Social Security like a good girl yesterday to give them the information they need and obviously, the information they gave me on the telephone is wrong. Depending on my work records as a disabled person, I may not be able to take the position without losing my Social Security benefits. Celebration postponed and possibly cancelled until things are verified. I am upset and worried. I actually had hope that I could accomplish what I needed to do without any problems. Silly me.
I'm not giving up. I just have to wait for the paperwork before I do that. However, with my luck, I'm not getting my hopes up -- just sitting here having panic attacks and praying for a miracle.
I do apologize for being precipitous in spreading good news. I really should know better than that.
Hope y'all are having a great day!!!!!
Happy Blogging!!!!!

OH, I am so sorry that you have had to deal with all of this. Bureaucracy is not for the faint of heart, nor the short of patience. Good luck and enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI believe SS disability recipients are allowed to earn some income, though not very much. Good luck!
ReplyDeletePrayers for you and all that works out for the best. Stay light and remember that stress is overrated.
ReplyDeleteNo go watch golf or something!
Oh dear, what a let down. Let us know what happens next.
ReplyDeleteOh, phooey! I'm sorry you were mislead about the job. I hate it when that happens to me.
ReplyDeleteHang in there and keep us posted, holding postive thoughts for you :)
(Fingers crossed for you.)
ReplyDeleteI have heard plenty of stories where each government bureaucrat believes in different rules. I hope you find someone who is both knowledgeable and fair. Good luck!
