Just a Quick Note

I was off and running early today. I had errands and then I met the Jeffer for a quick lunch downtown at what I call the Bakery of Sin -- because of their lovely cookies, cakes and pastries (the raspberry scones are to die for). They also have fabulous soups and croissants. Jeff was impressed -- he thought it would be more like a tea room but he really loved their hearty corn chowder. I had shopping and more errands and he had chores at both his house and his dad's so we agreed that he would call some friend and get a group together to have dinner at eight. I took off with orders to be dressed up and ready to go at 7:30.

We had dinner at our his neighbor's elegant Italian restaurant where the steaks are prime and the pasta fresh and stuffed ourselves. Since we're all retired, we went dancing at another Italian place that always has good entertainment. I always enjoy his friends and their wives. However, I don't think they understand our friendship because in evitably there's a crack about "making me an honest woman". I am an "honest woman" by their definition -- they just don't believe it. People can have such nasty minds.

Right now I'm exhausted and am going to bed as soon as I finish this. We're going up to Hartville to look at antiques and visit some shops I like up there and get other errands done.

Hope y'all had a great day!!!!!!

Happy Blogging!!!!!!

Kay

  6. To heck with what the friends think. They sound like they've never gotten over the pious Christian teachings they grew up with.

Sounds like a fun day ahead of you, go for it.

I love to dine with friends. Usually invite them over for lunch, and rarely eat out with them.

Love to make a party of it -- say lunch for 8 people.

The next time you are in Hawaii, I'll invite you over, too. I mean that, sincerely!

  10. Sounds like a very good time. People will believe what ever they want to, let them. You enjoy each other's company and that's all that matters :)

  11. Annie: It's a long story.

GFB: Exactly -- on both counts!

Joy: It's fun!!! And to think it started with a silly phone call.

Judy: I forgot my camera and there wasn't much good stuff anyway according to Jeff who knows his stuff.

Rain: It is! I've got 10 minutes until we go again!

Linda: Indeed! However, it causes discussions later.

Mare: Indeed!!!! But I'm out of practice at this.

Gigi: Jeff has never married so the best thing he makes for dinner is reservations.

Darlene: It's tiring!!! I'm out of practice.
