A Quiet Day -- What a Miracle!

After yesterday, I was afraid to get up this morning but I did anyway and I was on time. I only had a half day ahead of me so that wasn't bad. The office was pretty quiet and the phone wasn't going nuts as I feared. I just organized a few things for Leo for the meeting in the afternoon as well as packets for tomorrow.

Yeah, I have tomorrow allllllllllll day long. Actually, I'm really looking forward to it as we're going to be working with the Mexican Consul and helping over 200 of our clients with renewing their passports, visas, etc. It's going to be a busy, fast-paced day. I'm really interested in this. I like learning new things and this will definitely be something new. We've spent the past couple weeks getting everyone's documents in order so hopefully it will go smoothly. My Spanish will get a workout!

After work, I went and battled bureaucracy and don't know if I won or not but I did get a problem more or less resolved. We'll see if it's more or less. I also ran to the grocery store and got stocked up for a scorching weekend. I think God is looking out for me because people I haven't seen in ages are cropping up and really being positive. It's a blessing.

I stopped by Emily's to see if she'd like to go out to supper tomorrow when I get home. I figure I'm going to be tired and hungry after along day and cooking something won't be in my agenda. I've been a very frugal girl it seems and there's more money in my bank account than I thought so I figure I deserve a treat and since Em has had a rough week, she does, too. I'm going to let her choose even though I think I'd like to go to see my friends Soledad and Isidro who own the Mexican Restaurant near my place. They came here as migrant workers long ago and scrimped and saved to become citizens and have their own business -- the enchiladas are awesome!

I got out my eBay wish list and did a little shopping spree online and bought a couple books I'd been wanting at bargain prices. I am now anxiously awaiting Marian
VanEyk McCain's The Lilypad List -- she hosts The Elderwoman Website and is a wonderfully interesting woman. I also bought Tarot Revelations by Joseph Campbell because I've a long standing fascination with the Tarot and this book explores the philosophy and history behind it. And yeah, I have a couple decks and a stack of books on it and have learned to read the cards and do readings now and then. I don't claim to be very good at it 'cause I'm not. It can be fun though. The third book I bought, Stick a Geranium in Your Hat and Be Happy! by Barbara Johnson sounds fun and just what I need -- I've been far too grumpy the past couple months. I figure all three of the books will give me food for thought for a couple weeks. I'll get back to you on them, I'm sure.

It's late and and I have an early day tomorrow. I'm going to try to go visit as many of y'all as I can before I hit the sack. I'll be off until Thursday though and hopefully they will be productive Blog-wise.

Happy Blogging!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Kay,

You'll love the Barbara Johnson book. I've read a number of her works and I've never been disappointed. She has a great prospective on life.

Wow, it sounds like you've been busy. Good luck on battle the government. He-He, that's always an uphill war.

  2. Hey, Kay, next time you go on a book binge, check out Amazon.com. Depending on what you buy, you may get free shipping. Could come out to be the same or lower than Ebay prices.
