A Quick Update . . . More Later Today -- I Hope!

Thanks to all of you for your good wishes! I did finally get my computer running amid terrified visions of malicious code having eaten my poor computer alive! It took assorted reboots, three runs of my anti-virus as well as running every single anti-spyware and adware program I've got at least once. (What? Me paranoid?)

After no sleep Thursday night and working Friday, I came home and took what I hope was a well-deserved nap and started a few computer housekeeping chores. Emily, my neighbor and daughter of an old friend, came over and hung out with me for a while and was really appalled at the noise my upstairs neighbor's loudness. She jumped up and down a few times to let her know how annoying she was after I told her they had been fighting and banging around for hours. It didn't help. After Em went home so I could get more sleep, the moron decided to run her vacuum cleaner at 1 a.m.! I think I'm going to die of sleep deprivation! And the doctors think anti-depressants are the answer. Sigh. I don't need this but obviously my landlord would rather take her money than lose a good tenant. I'm calling Sgt. Fox on Monday and ask some questions. I don't want to move right now. I can't afford it and haven't the energy to handle the hassle. I've decided that I'm going to look around and see what's available and if things I'm hoping for work out, I may just move after I take a much-needed week on the beach.

I have to get out of here and go get some food but hopefully, I'll be back with more pleasant things to talk about later. We've just started our silly season here and I'll be telling y'all all about it.

Happy Blogging!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kay

  1. What is wrong with those people up above you that can be so annoying and cause you to want to explode,

Have you tried knocking on the ceiling with a broomstick?

Have you asked them to quiet down?

    Good luck.

  2. I am so thankful I now live in my own house in the country. Not too many years ago, I lived in Montreal and had to put up with apartment living...tenants partying all night, fighting, broken beer bottles in the yard, police cars at all hours.
I would just make a complaint..sometimes if you ask them to tone it down, it could cause more problems.
Hopefully if you complain enough or get other tenants to sign a petition, maybe they'll move out!
Thanks for dropping by...I love your blog!

  3. Is that woman so inconsiderate as to run a vacuum at 1am? I think if I were you, I'd start making noise at 3-4-5 am, when she is trying to sleep.

  4. Oh hell! She isn't smart. I'm working on a strategy here. We did some payback tonight. lol and I invited neighbors so no one would call the cops. lol My mama didn't raise dumb kids. The guy across the street works for the city and was a candidate for state representative -- and he was here with his girlfriend. I don't think she knows who she's messing with. I saw the mayor at the balloon fest and asked her to stop by, too, but of course she had other plans. lol I'm going to find someone who will help me somewhere.

You go, girl. That would be so hard to live with. It's one thing to have one of your kids (or grandkids) being rude in the night but quite another for a neighbor to be that way. Is she a drunk or addict and unaware of how the world works for most people? Does she sleep in the day and work at night?

Enjoy your silly season. Sounds like fun.

  6. I'll just never understand why someone chooses to be so thoughtless. You've been incredibly patient Kay...considering this kind of treatment has been going on for quite a while. It's shameful really.
