Assorted Nonsense

It's a busy week here for me already. I'm trying to get a lot of things in order with damned little help or cooperation. Needless to say, I'm a bit crabby (gross understatement) as I tend to get when I have to deal with bureaucrats of any stripe.

* I've got my place torn up with the mission of getting things properly organized should I be moving -- a very real possibility -- soon. The good news is that Spring is and finding a new place will easier to find. No one in his/her right mind moves in Ohio in the Winter.

* I'm having a problem with others who I don't think understand that some of the stuff that I'm working on is to make their life easier. I'm determined to have everything in order when I'm gone so no one is overly inconvenienced. AND there's a bunch of junk that I want to get rid of NOW.

* Last night I was out at the DCC office. They're gearing up for the primary and mid-term elections and of course they need the Data Queen. (giggling here)

* Jeff and Shaughnessy are back from Florida and we're having dinner later this week. Alec says he won't be back until June. He's smart. It might be April but in Ohio that's no real possibility of good weather.

* Here's a short 2cellos video -- I love the joie de vivre they always exhibit!!

Have a great day!!!!

Happy Blogging!!!!

  2. Our neighbor goes to Florida every winter. He comes back later every year. It was June last year.

  3. Just discovered these guys about a month ago....did you post another video? I can't remember who had it. But I absolutely love them. Not only is it great to listen to their music and watch their exuberance as they play, but it is exciting to hear the audience so enthusiastically applaud them. They are bringing classical music and a classic instrument to the masses!

Kay--You and I are of like mind in what we leave behind. It's hard to remember to balance current aggravation to others (caused by our need to dispose of stuff) and future aggravation to them (caused by our having left 'way too much stuff behind). Hunky Husband keeps reminding me that, as I won't be around to witness the aggravation in the second event, I shouldn't worry about what I leave behind.

  5. We are eternally getting rid of stuff. When my daughter comes in June I want her to sort through family photos, etc. and take them home with her.
Have a nice week and crunch some good data!

  6. Bravo to you. I have been forced into the same situation. We have WAY too much stuff here, and as I unpack, it mostly goes out. Bravo to both of us.

  7. I wouldn't worry too much about inconveniencing others when you're gone; but I do think it's a good idea to make life easier for yourself while you're here. P.S. Love the cellos.

  8. What an incredible cello performance. I've never seen anything like it. Good luck on your organizing and packing and cleaning. We went through it too. Unfortunately, we're accumulating again. This must stop.

  9. Good luck with your house cleaning.. meaning the stuff we human's collect... which reminds me of George Carlin story about "our stuff"... I have to sit with 3 boxes.. one to keep, one to give to Goodwill and one to throw away... I have to do it that way because if I go to another room to put something away.. I will never return to that area again.. lol.. as i will be distracted by more stuff.. I give away so much and yet there it is.. I swear it breeds in the closets and drawers.
