Veteran's Day 2012

It's Veterans' Day and I urge you all to honor our Vets. I come from a family of Vets dating back to the American Revolution and to the present -- even my daughter is a Vet who proudly served her country in the U.S. Navy like her Dad, Grandfathers, uncles, and many of her cousins. My brother, as I've written before, is still serving in the Army Reserve -- and has been since he enlisted in the regular army at 18 -- that's 32 years of Service to his country including two wars in Iraq. I am intensely proud of all of our Vets and I urge you all to honor the Vets in your life. And to all the wonderful vets who read here -- thank you and consider yourself hugged!!!

I hate to get political on this but this came in from and was a real eye-opener. I urge you all to contact your representatives and ask them to address these problems. And if y'all can't get it to grow so you can read it here.

Hope y'all have a great day!!!!!

Happy Blogging!!!!

  1. those are shocking statistics, but put in context, understandable. And I don't mean that in a nice way. Our governments don't seem to care too much about the more fragile among us. I continue to "click" on The Hunger Site where this is the veterans' link:

  2. The stats are not much better in the UK sadly. I am proud that my father served in WWII when he was underage and being from a neutral state did not need to.

  3. Out here in the northwest there's the Returning Veterans Project providing free services from mental health professionals, acupuncturists, naturopaths, chiropractors, massage therapists to vets and their families in Oregon and southwest Washington. Every community needs something similar.

  4. On behalf of returning vets, I will try to have this go through. Every community needs to have a version of The Returning Veterans Project like the one here in Oregon. Provides FREE services to vets and their families from mental health professionals, acupuncturists, naturopaths, chiropractors, massage therapists.
