Road Trip to See a Blog Buddy!!!!! Great Day!!!

I warned y'all that I was taking Miss Ruby (my little red car for those of y'all who are newer friends here in Kay's wonderful world) and so on one the hottest days of summer -- so far -- we went to meet my good blogging buddy Joanne.

I headed up to the byways to visit her (I hate the Interstates!) and some of y'all may already know her from her excellent blog, Cup on the Bus. It's about an 1 1/2 hour drive for me through some of the prettiest areas of NE Ohio. Her little town is smack dab in the middle of the Cuyahoga Valley Nature Preserve -- a glorious place!!!!

I found her awaiting me at her office and she introduced me to Sunflower who has taken up residence at the Township garage. Sunflower was kind enough to begin to bloom for my visit. Isn't she lovely?

If y'all want to know more about the wonderful care Joanne has given her, y'all should visit her blog.

We then went to an excellent local restaurant/pub for lunch and get better
acquainted as bloggers tend to do when the meet.

We then visited the lovely shops that market all manner of art -- paintings, pottery, jewelry and beyond! It's one of those places where I could spend and spend and spend!!!!

And we visited the Picasso Art Camp where her darling granddaughters are studying! Today was Jackson Pollock and Monet's water lilies and it looked like great fun!
I'd like to go to that camp!!!!! Here are some of their efforts:

And last but not least, here's Joanne and I smiling on this 90 degree day!
Just call us Mutt and Jeff!! :) And yeah, I was having a bad hair day.

By the time I got home, it was sweltering and I was thoroughly drained. The ex called to make sure I knew that tomorrow the weatherman was predicting 100+ temperatures and offered me shelter since I don't have A/C. I might just take him up on it as I'm still feeling lousy.

Hope y'all are staying cool!!!!

Happy Blogging!!!!!

Kay

A delightful day well deserved. I think your hair looks fine (read cool). And yes you should take your ex up on his offer. 100+ temp is nothing to sit out if you can be where it is cooler.

  4. Sunflowers have got to be my favorite flower (well, maybe second, next to dandelions). They're just so happy and summery! And ya know, I wouldn't mind going to camp again, either. Are there any summer camps for us elder bloggers?

  5. I certainly hope that you took him up on an offer to keep cool. This heat can be so dangerous, and when you can't sleep well nothing will be good. I love meeting blog friends.

  7. It doesn't look like a bad hair day to me - how nice that you met a blog friend. Always a banner day, in my opinion.

  8. Those are beautiful sunflowers. It's always so wonderful to meet another blogger. You're both looking great considering the heat you're suffering through. Love those junior Pollock paintings. It's nice to have a nice, considerate ex. :-)

  11. I don't know how anyone survives without air conditioning in the heat. I would move in with your ex until summer is over. Heat kills Drink lots of water.

  12. Kay -- take shelter where you can. I went without AC for five years but this heat is too much for the body to take. -- barbara
