Y'all know that Bernie Sanders is #1 on my list of heroes. Late last night this video came in with a request to sign his petition for the amendment he's proposing and that I pass it on to all and sundry so here it is. It's rather long so if y'all have trouble with video, you can read about it here at at his website.
I urge all of you who think that corporations are not people and hate big money stealing our rights and our elections, please sign the petition and pass it on to all and sundry!!!! Our country is in danger!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI completely agree and have signed the petition. But I have no illusions that it is going to pass. It is not in the interest of the corporate money for this amendment to pass and they have the means to kill it.

ReplyDeleteKay--As I commented at Ronni's, "I was chagrined to receive an email from Congressman Mike Pompeo saying, "Thank you for contacting me with your support for H.J.Res. 78." in response to my message to him that Companies are not people and should not have the same rights. Obviously, I sent him another message with the title, "I do not support H.J. Res. 78!!!!!!!" and further elucidation in the text of the message. Grrrrr!"
ReplyDeleteHJR 78 is "Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to clarify the authority of Congress and the States to regulate the expenditure of funds for political activity by corporations."
I support Sen Sanders' amendment.
