Random Thoughts -- Recent Events and Assorted Nonsense

A lot has happened/is happening and given some comments, I think I should clarify some things.

* There will not be a wedding -- at least not for the foreseeable future. The main reason is that we simply can't do things the way we want to do them. I'm not going to explain -- it's complicated and many might not understand our reasons. And yeah, it's all my fault -- sorta. We are, however, committed to taking our relationship to a different level. So far, it's all good. (gross understatement)

* My posting will be a bit sporadic -- there's a lot to be done and I still have some obligations/commitments to fulfill not to mention adjustments in my/our life which will probably prove interesting to say the least. I wonder if we're too old and too set in our ways for this. LOL

* Jeff and Shaughn are arriving on Saturday. I spent this morning getting the house ready and making calls to let the people who matter know when he'll be back. We're going to be busy once our news gets around.

* My front lawn is sporting a John Boccieri for Congress sign again. Here's a video of the 49th Roll Call Congressional Baseball Game. The Dems beat the GOP 13-5!!!! A former minor league player, John did us proud -- he wore the helmet cam (and scored a homer!) and shared MVP honors with Reps. Joe Baca (D-CA)-- age 63! -- and Brian Baird (D-WA). The game is a charity event that supports the Boys and Girls Clubs of Washington and the Washington Literacy Council. Good stuff!!! Click on the link to see if your congressman played.

* Jeff sent along this video (yes, the old dawg learned a new trick and yes, I'm being compliant -- for a change) and told me to post it because the 'something big' just got bigger -- it only started 40 years ago or so! And yeah, we both like Steve and Eydie!

Hope y'all are having a great day!!!!!!!

Happy Blogging!!!!

Kay

  2. Well my day got better hearing how this is going. I love that song and how apropos. So many people never get a second chance. I am so happy for you, my friend, that you are one who has... Or should I say the two of you are two who have *s* Beautiful to say the least and even though I almost never listen to videos for the reason I told you, I couldn't resist a bit of that song.

  5. Kay, you and the Jeffer have been refreshing for a jaded cynic like me to watch. However you do it and whatever you call it, if you're happy and Jeff is happy - safe bet that Shaughnessey will be happy - then it's all good. Mazel tov!

  6. I don't come around for awhile and look what happens, she falls in love! Yeah...

  7. Colleen: LOL I sure do wonder!!!!

Hal: And we both know that Shaughnessy is the most important important factor. I'm going to be interested to see what happens when he comes home and I don't sleep in my room. Vacation is one thing; home is another kettle of fish. I'm a jaded cync myself and shell-shocked at the whole bloody mess.

Jan: That happened over 40 years ago. Time, distance, and being sensible intervened.

  8. Hmm. Let's see if I have this right; no wedding, not sleeping in your old bed, happiness bubbling over and a video with an intriguing title. It sounds like you and Jeff are combining households. If I am right I am so happy for you. That makes so much sense.

I would never remarry, but might live with an old geezer if he was Mr. Right. (If he hasn't come along by now I am sure his ship has sailed)

    Good for you; be happy!!!

Over 40 years ago, huh? Better late than never.

  10. Darlene: uh-huh sorta. I used to have my own room at his house from when he was injured in a car accident some years ago or house/dog sat for him on occasion. It was a joke that the dog slept in my room instead of Jeff's. We're not really combining households as making a commitment. It's confusing and difficult to explain.

    Anon: Better late than never!

  19. Kay..you sound Happy and scared too..And that is more than okay! To me, there are no rules about how anything "should" be done...You do things they way they suit you and Jeff...All that matters is that you are happy and looking forward to wherever this road leads..Scared or not---This Could Be The Start Of Something Biig!!

I saw Eydie Gorme many many MANY years ago in Vegas...She opened for Joe E. Lewis who was a wonderful comedian--It was the mid 1950's and she was FANTASTIC!!!! She and Steve had not yet become a couple...but soon after that they did.
    TALENTED, TALENTED People!

Much Good Luck, my dear on this new road with old ties....!
