Home again

It's good to be home. We accomplished a lot in a short time and Jeff will be tying up some loose ends before he and the 'pup' return. I have a start on a nice tan as I made sure I got in my beach time (slathered in factor 15) and Jeff and Alec managed to get nine holes of golf in every day. Evenings were spent discussing the future and explaining various aspect of the issues we're dealing with with Alec. Bottom line is he's okay with our decisions (but not ecstatic) and that's a relief. And yeah. we'll be going back South in the fall as there are still some decisions to be made regarding real estate.

Tomorrow I'll be on the phone making various calls/appointments and getting caught up with y'all. It's crazy but I think it will all work out. And no, there isn't going to be a wedding for assorted reasons.

I got home in time to go do my bit for my Congressman at a local holiday parade/festival as promised and had the pleasure of meeting his wife and four lovely young children who behaved impeccably. It was fun.

One of the reasons I came back was that when I called to wish Bryce a happy birthday, his mom told me that the OB says her baby probably isn't going to wait until August. Since I promised to take care of Bryce and Racy Gracie when she goes to the hospital, we thought it best that I head north. I took one look at Mama and I agree with the doc. Yikes!!!! I'm sleeping with my cell phone.

Since as I write this we're still on the holiday weekend (and the local pyromaniacs are still violating city ordinances), here's an original clip of the lady who "owns" this song -- no one can sing it like she can!!!!!

Hope y'all enjoyed your holiday!!!!!

Happy Blogging!!!!!!!!!

  2. Kay,
A belated holiday greeting. Although your life sounds in turmoil, you seem to have a good grasp on sensibility.

My mother's name was also Grace. Racey Gracie is so cute. My dad proudly called my mother "Go Go Gracie" because she was always on the run.

  3. Rain: It's all an adventure and we'll see how it goes.

Maria: It's not really turmoil -- just change and I'm tryiong hard to manage it sans too much drama.
AND I call her Racy Gracie because of the way she speeds the sidewalks on her lil' pink scooter. She loves it and reminds me if I don't call her that. Given your mom, I wonder if the energy goes with the name which also sounds like a case of "like mother like daughter".

  8. M.E.: It's all complicated. I'm just going wherever it takes me.

LTTS: Thanks!!!! I don't think ANYONE can sing that song like Kate can.

Naomi: Kate is the best. And yeah, beach time is essential for me.

Judy: For various reasons, a wedding isn't an option right now.
    As usual, it's complicated.
