In case y'all haven't noticed, I've been a very busy girl. It's been tiring and my energy is, at best, borderline and my computer time almost non-existent. Mea Culpa!
* Working takes a lot of adjustment when one hasn't been on a schedule for a while so I've been tired a lot.
* Jeff is off to Ireland. I took him to the airport this week and he won't be back for at least a month so looking in on Shaughnessy at the breeder is part of my gottados.
* The Census work is kind of interesting. It isn't easy because they are sticklers and there are a lot of protocols to be followed. Remembering everything can be difficult. However, I am getting some good walking time in. It's funny -- I got assigned Jeff's neighborhood. However, I haven't seen anyone I know other than in passing because his friends all sent back their forms. LOL
* I passed my inspection. My place looks pretty damned good. I spent $100 getting my crappy carpet cleaned for it and, as usual, Brad the Carpet Guy did a great job! I am determined to keep up with my chores so it's less work in the long run.
* Interesting news: Glen Beck's ratings have dropped by one third and sponsors are dropping like flies accrding to Media Matters. All I can say is "Hallelujah!"
* Tonight is First Friday and I'm taking a wee break to go hang out with my artsy friends but I'll be back to work tomorrow.
* My young friend Brice's darling little sister is celebrating her seventh birthday on Sunday and I've been invited to share her celebration. I call her "Racy Gracie" (which makes her giggle) because she is always buzzing the sidewalks on her scooter.
I couldn't decide among several videos I like and this one by the late, great Tommy Makem always makes me smile!!!!!
Happy Blogging!!!!
Kay
You sound happy, busy and content. I'm glad for you!
ReplyDeleteI love the music. My sister is in an Irish band and loves this kind of music. I am glad to read your update. The Census was here months ago, I guess it is different in other states.

A busy week and more for the weekend. A full life, it seems!
ReplyDeleteTake care, enjoy.
I have been away too, pouting, working, thinking black thoughts. Getting back to myself at last, glad to see you are hear - and that Glen Beck is dropping! Hope is in the air!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear all is going well for you.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to go to Ireland, I hope you will be able to share some of his pics (if he takes any).

My toes are a tapping, and You sound great.
ReplyDeleteColleen: Busy yes, happy -- maybe.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks.
Annie: The Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem are the best!!!! No, the census is everywhere now visiting all the people who didn't send in their forms.
Dorothy: Am I content? I don't know but probably not. Most likely just busy so I don't have time to kvetch.
AITBR: A life? What's that?
Wild: You have my sympathy. I'll probably be back to that soon.
LTTS: Jeff? Take pictures? (loud guffaw!!!!) He's worse than I am!!!
Maggie: A momentary lapse after a
productive week with little or no drama. :-)
How do people with Multiple Personality Disorders fill out there Census Forms?
ReplyDeleteLoves Ya!

There's a lot to be said for being busy. It certainly keeps you from thinking sad thoughts.
ReplyDeleteGreat news about Glenn Beck. I hope this is a trend.
Kay,
ReplyDeleteMy comment disappeared! I hate Blogger sometimes! Great up-date!
Have a super Friday--well it's already past now! Hope is was great!
Ciao,
John
I am trying to catch up on everything that has gotten away from me...like blogging!! I am happy that things are looking up for you. Glenn and Rush make me crazy. Their ratings can't fall far enough!! Hang in there, Kay!
ReplyDeleteI was sorely tempted to do some census work over here. What put me off was another friend having to trawl the streets in a less than healthy neighbourhood, knocking on doors to help people fill out their forms.
