It's the last day of the year. I can't say I'm sorry to see it go. I haven't made any resolutions or even any plans; I tend to break the former in a matter of minutes and I can't think of anyone with whom I'd really want to celebrate the 2010's onset. I work tomorrow for part of the day and I'm thinking I'll take myself out for an early dinner, come home, and at midnight, crack the bottle of raspberry champagne a friend gave me when the ball drops at Times Square and try to think of the good things. It works for me.
Here's Diana Krall, whose glorious voice I absolutely love, backed by the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra with a wonderful rendition of an old standard. And watch the conductor -- did you ever see anyone loving his work more?
Hope y'all are spending New Year's in a way you enjoy!
Happy Blogging!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good Morning, Kay. I think you have a good plan for spending this evening. We are also glad 2008 is over no matter what 2009 promises (threatens). I have long ago stopped the nonsense of making resolutions and I keep what ever goals I form general and changeable. It is easier on the psyche that way. Happy New Year and may it surprise us by being bette than we expect or fear.
ReplyDeleteHere's to a better year for all of us! Happy New Year, Kay.
