The Consulado went well and we got everyone -- over 250 -- processed in a timely and efficient fashion. We are happy and proud of ourselves and tired as hell. The bright spot was lunch -- it was donated by my favorite Mexican restaurant. It included tamales, burittos and awesome refried bean quesadillas with a piquant sauce with salad on top!!! I pigged out big time. The good news is that Mexican food really isn't outrageously fattening unless it's drowned in cheese which is mostly an American thing.
When I finally got time to check my cell, I found a couple friends called and wanted me to go downtown. It's O'Jays weekend and they would be performing and raising money for their scholarship program. Most of y'all might remember our local boys who made good -- they had a string of soul hits that garnered them a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
That said, I decided that after a long day and the hectic pace of Hall of Fame week, I really just wanted to kick back, put my feet up, and relax so I suggested that I make popcorn and they come over for a "Dirty Harry" film festival. I love this series and own the set.
The good news is that they agreed!!!!!!!!! Great fun!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Blogging!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a fun evening! Good for you for standing up to what you really wanted to do (I do that a lot)!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Amy. Stand up and do what you really want to do. It sounds like you have been more than busy these days.
ReplyDeleteI sure didn't see that one coming, Kay. Glad you enjoyed your consulate weekend, but now you're sick. The Paris Hilton ad was funny, too, and I'd love to pass on your top 100 books. Get well soon.
