After a hardy West Virginia rainstorm filled all the potholes in the streets and alleys, a young mother watched her two little boys playing in the puddle through her kitchen window.
The older of the two, a five-year-old lad, grabbed his sibling by the back of his head and shoved his face into the water hole. As the boy recovered and stood laughing and dripping, the mother ran out to the yard in a panic.
"Why on earth did you do that to your little brother?!" she says as she shook the older boy in anger.
"We were just playing 'church', Mommy" he said. "I was baptizing him in the name of the Father, the Son and . . . "
Get ready!!!!!!
"in the hole-he-goes!"

Hey Kay, I dug your profile. What drew me to you is that we both had the film "patton" listed as our favorite movies. I think that says a lot about a person, no? I have a Velvet Underground CD that has a couple of cats in the background talkiing about seeing that film in '70. HEavystuff, and relevant to this day. I am paraphrasing here, but patton once said, "you don't have to die for your country, you just have to make the other bastard die for his".
ReplyDeleteYou're right - a bit of a groaner there, but I know some people that really enjoy puns like that.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a little give-away over at my blog. No gimicks, it's just for fun - my way of celebrating the one year anniversary of having my space on the web.
