Friday the 13th -- Ohhhhhhhh No!!!!!!

Paraskevidekatriaphobia: a morbid, irrational fear of Friday the 13th. I know! I know! Leave it to me to come up with a word for it! I'm not one of those folks with that phobia -- are you? I tend toward more mundane phobias -- like heights. There's a lot of weird reasons for this phobia. My favorite that the infamous Ides of March that the soothsayer warned Julius Caesar to beware was a Friday the 13th and he was killed on that day.

My Friday the 13th wasn't a bad day after a week or so of mixed reviews. My boss came in my office and sat down and I thought, Uh-oh! He just wanted to talk to me about changing my schedule. No more Saturdays!!!!
Amen and Hallelujah! He also mentioned that my Spanish is getting much better. I just grinned and said, "I told you I was trying and that it would come back with practice!" and he actually laughed. Even better, after he left and when his assistant came in, he told me we'd be closing the office early! I told him, en espanol of course, that he was breaking my heart. He laughed with me.

It was nice to come home early on a lovely day. I pulled a beer from the fridge and went out on my big front porch and sat down and watched the world. It was amazingly quiet and a good time to think long thoughts. I've gotten pretty good at that -- experience is an excellent teacher. Tomorrow morning I'll have time to go down to the Farmer's Market instead of going to work and in the afternoon, I'm going take on one of my favorite chores: laundry. Ugh! Gotta take the bitter with the sweet. The main project will be adding some new stuff to my computer and reorganizing some things on it as well. AND I'll be getting caught up on what y'all are doing. I've decided that feeling lousy is no excuse. Hope y'all had a good Friday the 13th and that y'all have a great weekend!

Happy Blogging!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. I spent the day hearing ..."Grandma, did you.....?" and "Grandma, I think.....". It's been worse than 6 otters in a gunny sack. I stayed home; not because of the 13th (I'm not afraid of that), but because it was easier than taking her anywhere.....LOL

I totally forgot it was Friday the 13th. That was good because I might have worried otherwise.

  4. I always worry a bit about Friday the 13ths... when I remember... but have never had a bad one; so not sure why the feeling it might be a bad day.
