Trying to Catch Up

I'm moving at a snails pace these days although I've been trying mightily to get as caught up with what all y'all have been doing. Depression is very much with me & I did call my head doctor for an appointment. My so-called support system is apparently not in working order. I'm not perfect but when people call me and ask me to call back, I do. I have a feeling that I'll be going in the hospital soon -- something isn't right but I already have a test scheduled with my neuro guy in a week or two so. Just keep good thoughts and email me if you have any helpful advice. Desperation is setting in and it's not fun.

* My quit smoking campaign appears to be working reasonably well in spite of everything else. I'm not I've had some lapses but mostly I've been pretty successful. I figure that I'll be done in a couple weeks.

* I watched the White House Correspondent's Dinner on Saturday night -- Conan O'Brien starred -- sorta. I didn't find him very funny. CBS live streamed it -- it was like watching paint dry. Frankly, I wish I'd just waited for the other networks put it on YouTube.

* My Senator, Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), is one the best Senators we have representing us ordinary folks. He tells us (via the Huffington Post) how "too big to fail" is still very much with us and why he's fighting it. If you're not scared, you're richer than I am.

Here's your Sunday treat: 2Cellos playing "Benedictus" arguably one of the most beautiful pieces ever written for cello. It's not often music moves me to tears but this did. They didn't allow embedding but y'all can click here.

Hope y'all had a great weekend!!!!!

Happy Blogging!!!!!

  1. Hope things are better for you soon but if you need a stay in the hospital for advanced tests, it's just how it sometimes is.

I thought Obama was funny but agree on Conan. Flat.

  3. I will keep good thoughts for you and will check back soon. I have not been getting around to everyone lately and am changing that. Sometimes life just slows us down and we can't get to all that we should. take care -- barbara

  4. I sure hope you get through and be done with your present problems.I know from dealing with some of my little problems how frustrating it gets when there seems to be either no answers or no solutions.

  5. I think I'm a little richer than you are (not much), but I'm still scared. Anyway, I saw Conan on youtube. Agree he started out pretty shaky; but he did get better as he went along.

Kay--Congratulations on your progress along the "quit smoking" curve. It's a rough, steep climb; but, well worth it. It is, however, a marathon rather than a sprint. Hang in there! (If you go to the hospital, it should make it easier as it is surely a "no smoking" zone. Sorry. I couldn't resist.) Hugs to you!

  7. Keep up the good effort on the smoking front. Hope things get better on the other health front. Didn't watch the Correspondents' Dinner. Conan O'Brien has never tickled my funny bones like so much else that is supposed to be funny.

Kay--Lying in bed last night, something occurred to me that I thought I should have included in my above comment. I don't know how much cigarettes cost these days; but, I think it is $4 or $5 per pack. Something else that I don't know is how much you used to smoke each day. BUT...to put some numbers to it, I'll suppose that you smoked one pack each day and that it cost you $4.

Just think: Quitting smoking for you is like "finding" a bit over $1400 each year. You've undoubtedly already done the math; but, I just wish to remind you to think of what you can do with an extra $1400 each year!
