they remind me of the ladies who used to sit on the benches in the park in Brooklyn
I would take my son there and they would share all their wisdoms and one liners

  4. You made my day.
Just shows you how everyone puts their own twist on issues.

According to my 87-year-old mother-in-law, no one was gay in the old days. And no one had babies unless they were married. Talk about going through life with blinders on!

  5. This issue will fall under the wheels of history just like the racial and civil rights issue did 30 years ago... that our our country will fall under the wheels of history.

  6. I'm glad someone is making a funny about this issue. As the parent of a gay daughter, I get tired of all the pop-eyed seriousness about gay rights and gay marriage. The subtext too often is "Although I'm not gay I can get brownie points for my tolerant attitudes toward those people."
Coming from San Francisco, I have not been exercised over this issue. SF was full of gays from all the less tolerant parts of the country, and we deeply did not care.

    1. I understand. My daughter is single and 37 and I get asked all the time if she's gay
(If I'm feeling silly, I answer "Yeah, she seems to be happy.") and I ask, "Why would you think that?" and smile as they start to squirm and stutter. I think you know that I support gay rights unequivocally.

That said, sometimes you just have to laugh -- if only to keep from crying. I emailed this to a couple of local gay friends to see what they thought and they called laughing.

    2. Very funny!! Why is it that a single male or female is often presumed to be gay, or as they get older and remain single plus if they have a really close same-sex friend some will speculate they're gay? That annoys me, but so what if they are. Maybe some day we'll get past all this gender/sex obsession. I guess as long as religious beliefs, many man-made, are tied to certain issues the warped views will continue on so-called moral grounds.
