Update, and Assorted Stuff

I am wayyy behind on visiting y'all and answering email. I'm resting a lot -- mostly because I really don't have too much choice. This too shall pass and I'll be trying to get caught up with y'all slowly but surely. Thanks to all y'all who understand and come by whether I get over to visit or not -- you're support really helps a lot.

* I saw the Doc (Vascular Dude) on Thursday and he says that I'm doing just fine but should take it easy mostly. The good part of that is that I can drive so I don't have beg anyone to take me where I need to go; the bad news is that I still am having some pain and weirdness but he says that will go away and that I shouldn't overdo. Right.

* I went to my 'Occupy' meeting yesterday and it was, as always, interesting. What I like best about this group is that they are more about improving our community than just shouting about what's wrong in our society/country -- although they do that now and again, too.

* Here are a few little goodies that I've tripped across lately:

And this video is the best one one I've seen in weeks and it's only 1:27 minutes. Take that you Ronald Reagan worshipers!!!!!

Hope y'all are having a great day!!!!

Happy Blogging!!!!!

Kay

  2. Glad you are doing a little better! Reagan is a flaming liberal compared to the current cast of Republicans. Weird, ain't it?

  3. All your found goodies hit the mark square on the head! I take on "take it mostly easy" as "do mostly ONLY what you really care about--in my case blogging, reading, all that good jazz, and don't do what you don't care to--again in my case housework, weight lifting, excess exercise, and all that horrible stuff! Glad you're able to get out and about in the car. You'll be stronger before you know it.

    1. Thanks!!! Surgery always wipes me out. I really need to do housework because no one does it but me. I'm not allowed to lift more than 10 lbs until I heal. I'm listening 'cause I'm still in a lot of pain but I really need to get my clothes to the laundry nut I'll figure that out -- I hope.

You are wise to follow the directions of the docs, they usually have reasons for the limitations, hard as it may be to do so. I am hopeful that the Occupy movement is able to become more of a movement than an occupy-ment. That they can move things forward. We need some action on so many fronts.
    Take care of yourself.

    1. I've had so many illnesses/disabilities over the years that I know how my poor old body weathers storms although sometimes I just need to kvetch. Our Occupy group is dedicated to non-violent practical action -- which is prolly why I like it so well.

  5. Love the capitalism re-load, or is it that we need a whole new system? Your Occupy group sounds encouraging. Ones where I live appear to be too prone toward camper mode but I could be wrong!

    1. Don't know if we need to reload but revamping sounds good. Our group tends toward practical rather than rhetoric and that works for me. I also serve on the legal committee. We want to stay with in the law while still being heard.

Take it slow and easy, Kay. This is no time for a set back. But it is a perfect time for a good book. Are you reading anything special?

    1. Frankly, I have no choice but to take it easy! And yeah, I'm reading an excellent spy thriller by Vince Flynn: "American Assassin" and for my non-fiction read, I'm reading Les Roberts' wonderful "We'll Always Have Cleveland". And when I finish these, there's a dozen or so more waiting!!!

  9. Glad you're comin' along -- takin' care of yourself in the process.

Would be curious to know what your Occupy folks are working on specifically? Ours have several things going including making a difference for homeless -- guess I should write about it since our city involved, too.

Lots of good signs you have here!

    1. Jo -- I'm trying very hard!!!! Our group is participating in various things from fracking to cash mobs to support small business in addition to political issues. There's a lot to be done!!!

Glad you like the graphics -- they come in from the dozen or more organizations of which I'm a member.

  10. That Reagan video was AMAZING! And the Republicans today revere Reagan like he was some kind of god.

    1. It is indeed!!!!

The irony and hypocrisy just oozes out of that video. And they call themselves Christians . . . Sr. Mary Annunciata told us that we had to share with the other children and that greed was one of the Seven Deadly Sin -- you know, the one that would send us to Hell in a heartbeat.
