Comic Relief and Common Sense

I get a kick out of Jesse Ventura, the former governor of Minnesota -- he always makes me laugh. He's a no BS, common sense kind of guy -- one never has to ask him how he really feels. I don't know that I'd ever vote for him but I definitely admire the way he shoots straight from the hip with a wicked sense of humor so after the "Thelma and Louise" (Palin and Bachmann) debacle in Minnesota, I needed a laugh so I went looking to see if the former governor had weighed in on this unholy alliance. I wasn't disappointed. I liked his comment on Palin being a quitter and y'all can see/hear more about it here. It's one of those things where I've had to laugh to keep from crying which seems to be the case with a lot of things going on in this country lately. Sigh.

Happy Blogging!!!!

Ah, yes, Michele and Sarah. Tea for two. Jesse Ventura's comment that they are puppets is right on. Bachmann has stated several times that her husband told her to run, and that he is the head of their family. He is a "therapist" who works to "change" gays into being straight. She is brainless. Palin saw a way to cash in, and I don't know that it was Sarah that saw it. The thing that really gets me is that these women are only able to be in the positions that they are due to the work of the liberals who fought for women's rights all of these years. And now they want to set women back decades with their right-wing rhetoric.

  2. Thanks for those links. I also liked Jesse Ventura's politics and policies. He's right, we need a third party, a centrist party, and strong Independent party. (Like that would ever happen!)

Mr Ventura always struck me as pretty comic for a governor - a pre-Palin, Palin? Oh, well...they are both entertaining...in an irritating way.

  4. AITBR: I agree with you on Tweedledum and Tweedlebumber

How did you like Jesse as governor?
I think he makes a good deal of sense.

Elaine: I like Jesse, too. He's a bit rough around the edges but at least he has clarity of thought and the courage to be counted. And yeah, I'm a centrist, too.

CC: I would never consider Jesse on the same level as Sarah Palin. He actually makes sense.

  5. Kay,

I don't know whether to get more ACTIVIST in Government or just "Let it go". I do really really care about the State of things...but "What Up"- with our Country?????

PS: I can see Russia from my backyard! (What a classic, already from Palin!)

  6. I was visiting my mother in France once and she had a French magazine with a report on Jesse Ventura. They were very complimentary about him because of his views on religion (or against organized religion as it were) since the French are so secular and most don’t ever go to church. They thought that it was great that he spoke his mind and did not mix politics and religion as most of the other US politicians do. I like Jesse Ventura too but I dislike Michele Bachmann so much that I donated money to Minnesota last time to try to get her out of politics, and I don’t even live in Minnesota (I live in Georgia.) I was not happy to see her zombie pasted smile again on TV.

  7. My husband and I watched Jesse when he was a wrestler. I have always liked him and you are right, he shoots straight from the hip. We need more people like him in politics :)

  8. I thought Ventura being elected as governor was a fluke, now I am not so sure. Wondering how much traction a Ventura-Schwarzenegger ticket would get in the 2012 election? Oh you say Schwarzenegger isn't a citizen?? Well, we just convince the TeaBaggers that the current president was from Kenya. Take that!

  9. John: LOL

Vagabonde: How interesting! I like Jesse because he is honest and a centrist. He doesn't tiptoe around.

LTTS: I check to see what Jesse is up to because he doesn't pull any punches and he does so in good humor. I think he may be the most honest man in politics today.

Robert: I doubt that would work. 'Sides, I'm not a fan of the governator.
