Old TV -- Quiz Shows (Part 3)

Game shows have been a staple of television since it's beginnings. And they appeared in many formats.

A favorite of mine was Treasure Hunt hosted by Jan Murray who was (I thought) really funny and featured glamorous prizes.

We all remember Bob Barker on the Price is Right but do you remember its original host? Do you remember flat top haircut, too?

You'll recall this young man from Nebraska who cut his television teeth as a game show host and took his announcer to the top with him!

Next week we'll look at couple really challenging quiz shows and the fallout from them.

Happy Blogging!!!!!!!

I miss Johnny Carson! I thought he was cute and witty. No one else comes close.

Can't say I saw the other two people you show in your post.

  2. I remember them all. I fell in love with Carson the first time I saw him and watched nearly every show from start to finish.

    Merry Christmas, Kay!

  3. I didn't know Bill Cullen was the original host of Price is Right. I really liked him on that other show, was it What's My Line? Or was it that show Stop the Clock?

I watched so many game shows when I was a kid.

Although the names are familiar, I can't say that I ever saw any of the programs you mention. I'm pretty sure that I saw Carson on his late night show a couple of times, though. It's been a while ago, hasn't it?
