Still Celebrating or Somesuch

I was home all day today. I was tired. I slept a lot. It's just how it is. However, about 9 o'clock, I was bored and felt like I needed company so I cleaned up my act and headed up to the pub. Timmy and Joe were there and, as usual, we started with their trip to the gun show (after I gave 'em hell about missing my birthday) and worked our way into a discussion about Baby Boomers. Joe who is pushing 80; me, the old boomer; and Tim, who is a young boomer at 53. They chuckled like hell to hear that I was 62 yesterday and laughed harder at my admonition that I don't look 62 and bought me a beer. Awesome dudes, huh?

Joe was thrilled because I brought him some things I found on the 'Net about an actress he likes. I have to get him on the 'Net because he didn't know that one of our local theaters offers 'closed captioning' on selected films. He's partially deaf and says that "surround sound" damn near kills him. And they were offering "Frost/ Nixon" with it. Cool, huh?

As we were talking, an old high school and college friend and her hubby popped in and sat down with us after the Rotary Club dinner (we're all regulars -- some more regular than others. LOL ). A new conversation ensued about the "joy" of Social insecurity. It was interesting and fun.

I needed that. Despite spending far too much time alone, I realized that I am and always will be a social animal. Some day I may tell you a hysterically funny story about Tim and I -- except I have to find out if he's still reading my blog. LOL!

Happy Blogging!!!!!
