Nothing Good to Report

It's another day in Paradise as the adventure continues. I started the day exhausted because it's annual inspection day and I've been working hard to get things perfect and I saw my buddy Mr. Ken (who loved what I've done with my place) when he inspected it and passed me with flying colors. Miss Ruby is at the car doctor's office and it's costing me a serious dent in my savings -- threw me into a full-blown panic attack and I'm still not quite through it. My computer is having some problems and I am failing miserably at fixing it -- God how I miss Winston! I'm trying to count my blessings:

  1. I have a place to live.
  2. I have a car.
  3. I had the money to pay for repairs -- for now anyway.
  4. I have a computer.
  5. I have friends like y'all who listen who will listen to me whine!

I'm really a very lucky girl and know in my heart that the Big Guy only gives me what I can handle. Hope y'all are having a great day!

Happy Blogging!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kay

  1. Even when times are rough, that good old gratitude list almost always lifts me up. Thanks for the reminder.

  2. You're welcome!!! It's a life saver for me! I can remember a time when I hit rock bottom and spent a long time acquiring the things on that list. I'll be telling about that soon on HIGTBM.

  5. I understand completely. I asked him for the strength and discipline to replace the money I spent on Miss Ruby.

  6. My husband always said, "Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things." Sure, it's corny and we have heard it a zillion times, but I use it to remind myself that upsetting things do pass in time and it does no good to get in a tizzy over them.

(I'll bring the cheese and whine.)

  7. I only allow myself so long to kvetch about anything. And my car is far from petty -- I went without one for 9 long, difficult years and don't want to do so again. Not being able to take care of myself properly is a nightmare I lived far too long and still is to a degree.

  8. It gets dark just before it gets totally black. anything less is manageable----
The sun will come out tomorrow, and tomorrow is only a day away.

  9. That's a good list to have around, Kay. I'd have to read mine about 15 times a day!

  10. Sorry, Kay. I didn't mean to imply that your car was not a big deal. I was trying to say that we have a right to rage about big things and we should save our energy for them.

I meant that petty things are small, but big things deserve our attention and anger. I need to word things right or my message doesn't come out the way I intended. Please forgive.

  11. No problem, Darlene!!! I just live in fear of living the way I had to live for a long time. If I have to, I will and I will manage. I always do. I should hace kept my big mouth shut.
