This is where I think out loud about Life, the Universe and Everything. I consider life an adventure and this is part of mine whether I'm ranting on politics or taking you on a ramble through Kay's World.

Crazy Shelly Wins
The Iowa Caucus is over and I, for one, am glad. I didn't bother with it much because I wrote off what the GOP seems to be passing off as candidates is a not very funny and very sick joke on the American people long ago. To find a decent brain among them, we'd have to resurrect Diogenes with his lamp -- and he probably couldn't find one,
Michelle Bachmann won the straw poll despite her favoring throwing elders under the bus. If any of y'all saw the debate, she actually said that she wished that our country had defaulted. That's the kind of sick, mean-spirited people who are populating the Republican party today. Mit Romney says that corporations are people. Sarah Palin showed up with Polk-a-dot toenails -- how Presidential -- and keeps saying she's not running. (If she isn't, why in the hell was she there?) Meanwhile Rick Perry tossed his hat in the ring after his rally for bigots in Houston. From what I've read so far, he makes Dubya look like a Rhodes Scholar. Tim Pawlenty figured out that he wasn't wanted and Rick Santorum should be leaving the stage any minute. Ron Paul, who came in second, seems to have a nodding acquaintance with sanity and reality but is that enough?
I guess time will tell. And for me, it's just a question of who I'm going to be campaigning against and what organization(s) will get my time.
Happy Blogging!!!!!!!!!
Kay

11 My laptop is not working so I have not been using the Web very much. I think you post is right on. I read that Michelle Bachmann spent a lot of money to bring her supporters to Iowa and give them a show – maybe that is why she came in first. The whole thing is very depressing. Soon we’ll be going on a trip to Ohio – I hope your weather is not as hot as ours.
ReplyDeleteVagabonde: It's pretty nice this past week and I can smell Fall coming.
ReplyDeleteQuite simply, those people make me want to throw up. Whatever happened? I know there are good people in Iowa.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you can do the work you do Kay, but I'm glad you do.
Kay -- what I saw of your place was very eclectic. You have some wonderful stuff. I too lean between a mix of old primitives and eclectic stuff. I must tell you that only the first link connected. Tried several times. I think I will just go in search and look for --come on my house -- might show up there thanks barbara P. S. love the Michelle photo!
ReplyDeleteLinda: Hellifiknow. I do what I do because somebody has to and venting is better than holding my outrage inside. I'm not going to have another stroke if I can help it. I learned long ago that I don't/won't suffer fools gladly and that holding back is bad for my health.
ReplyDeleteBarbara: Thank you!!! I'm pretty eclectic and it was all done pretty much on a shoestring and by guess and by golly (as my granny would would have said). I'm comfortable with it. And it's still a work in progress.
I’m stopping by to say hi. I hope you had a nice weekend. Have a great week!!
ReplyDeleteI always thouth Pau was a lunatic. If he has the clostest grip n reality the (deity of your choice) help America if one of the others wins. (Deity of choice) help the planet!
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to ignore the Iowa circus. After all the damned election is 15 MONTHS away. And I am absolutely underwhelmed by Rick Perry. Just what we need--another idiot Texan exuding sanctimony from every pour. As if we didn't have enough of that from a certain former Iowan who is now a Minnesota Representative.
ReplyDeleteit is like a 3 ring circus...but it is in a 7 ring circus...
ReplyDeleteWT: Indeed!!!!
