This is where I think out loud about Life, the Universe and Everything. I consider life an adventure and this is part of mine whether I'm ranting on politics or taking you on a ramble through Kay's World.

It Seems that I'm Back . . . Until the Next Disaster(s)
Happy Easter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's always an adventure in Kay's world. In the midst of the nasty infection in my computer, there was more "fun". For some weird reason, the eye that was just operated on started hurting and I couldn't see out of it. I called Dr. Jamie's service and left a message and called Michelle and asked her to come look at it. I saw her expression and I knew that it wasn't good. Fortunately, Dr. Jamie called back quickly because I was in full tilt boogie panic mode. He told me to increase my eye drops, put hot compresses on my eye and see him at the office in the morning. The good news is that it worked and I could see again so I have some new knowledge. When I saw him, he said everything looked good. (HUGE sigh of relief.)
My computer is back to normal. Even my ex was perplexed by it and that is what really scared me because he really knows his stuff from the many years he spent in tech support for a major corporation. He was the guy they called at 4 am when the network went down. (I remember one night when they called and he managed to tell them how to fix it without having to go down there and the next morning I said something about it and he said, "What?" and I told him about what he did so I consider him my personal geek squad. LOL) I had written a note about my problem to tech support at my anti-virus AVAST and got a note back from them telling me what I needed to do and how to do it and it worked really well. I had used their free version for years and liked it and recently paid for and registered it recently. All I can say is that their help with it saved me a lot of angst. That said, I got the blue screen of death in the middle as I was typing this. It's been a problem and I think I may have found a solution. Cross whatever appendages y'all deem appropriate.
I've been slowly but surely catching up on visiting y'all and will try to stay up-to-date. Bryce and Gracie were just here to thank me for the chocolate bunnies I sent over and the bunny squeeze toys I sent for Ana. Gracie brought an Easter egg she made with my name on it. I almost cried. I really love those kids. They and their mom are true blessings in my life. And yeah, Gracie and I had a big old time when I picked her up from school the other day. We played Go Fish and munched cookies -- sheer heaven for both of us!!!
Tomorrow I'll be back with the Groaner of the Week and I'll, hopefully, get back to regular posting if the computer gods allow it!
Hope y'all are having a great day!!!!!
Happy Blogging!!!!!!!!

Happy Easter, Kay. I am glad to know that you have had some bright spots in the midst of dark ones. Good work on the eye - and quick thinking.
ReplyDeleteKay,
ReplyDeleteWhat a scare that eye pain must have given you. I have Macular Degeneration which does not yet give me any problems, but I know I worry about its progression. The doctors assure me it will be very slow and may never give me a problem.
Time with the kids we love is such a blessihng. Munching cookies and playing "Go Fish" are both great memory makers.
Computers are supposed to make life easier...I am not impressed with their accomplishments as to that.
ReplyDeleteHope that yours minds itself now that you have been through so much with it.
I'm so glad you're back and on the mend. Blue screen of death? Shudder! Don't ever lose that EX of yours. Techie friends are like gold.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been a scare with the eye. Glad it improved. Do take care and enjoy your spring.
ReplyDeleteJudy: Thanks! I don't take chances with my vision
ReplyDeleteMaria: Indeed it was!!!! And yes, I enjoy Bryce and Gracie!
AITBR: From your keyboard to God's monitor.
Kay: Even the ex is perplexed by this one and I'm not sure I'm out of the woods yet.
Lia: I'm trying hard! Thanks!
