I've been working so much around here it's almost funny. However, it's taking it toll on my time here. I gave up my Wonder Woman aspirations as a bad job long ago.
I did some catching up on some of y'all and will keep working away on it later but today was errand day and shrink day so I had to go out in the single digit temperature. Yikes!!! I think my street is the only one in the whole city that could double as an ice skating rink so getting to Miss Ruby is not for the faint of heart. She is a very good girl and has been starting like the 11-year-old little champ she is.
It's the end of a pretty good day. It was busy and I haven't accomplished as much as I would like but I can't complain because I did get quite a bit done. (Maybe a trip to the magic wand shop in the Harry Potter books would help.)
Dr. Gerrie was pretty happy with me today. She said I seemed to be doing better. I don't know if I am or not. Today just happened to be a good day. Even frigid days are better when the sun shines. She was really interested in the exercise program and asked me for the link to give to some of her other patients. And of course that led to talking about my blog. She likes it that I'm here with y'all. (I told her how great y'all are!) She gave me a printout of an article on writing as therapy and I just roared with laughter because it brought to mind M.E.'s gut-wrenching meme that made me come clean about a lot things. Sigh. It was a good session.
I then headed to do my errands: a little shopping for odds and ends, bank stuff and the Post Awful to mail back my Netflix and the Dynamic Duo's Valentines -- stuffed with some cash, of course.
The grocery store was last but not least on my list. I'm with you Judy -- food prices just keep getting worse and overhearing a conversation between two of the stockers didn't help. The gist of their exchange was "I have to keep changing the prices on everything." Still this old gal has to eat and I kept an eye out for sale items.
Now I'm finally home and the grocs are stashed and I am tired so I'm going to prop my feet up and watch a movie before I come back here to go visiting -- if I don't fall asleep!!!!
Here's an old favorite song I heard on the car radio today that keeps rattling around my brain -- and yeah, I've always been a rebel without a clue. :)
Hope y'all are having a great day!!!!
Happy Blogging!!!!!
Kay
Glad you had a good day---I went for a walk, but it was cold and slushy which is a terrible combination. That doesn't mean it was a bad day, but I guess it had potential for badness. Luckily, I was bundled.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great day. You need more of them!
ReplyDeleteHappy for ya--and LOVE the Song!
ReplyDeleteHugs my Friend,

Hey it sure is great when the doc is happy. Stay in and keep warm ,my friend.
ReplyDeleteYou really did have a good day...and a busy one. It always feels good to be able to get 'things done' doesn't it? I know about those frigid temps Kay....here too. I ran some errands too....brrrr! Stay warm, don't fall on that ice....and take care sweetie... ~Joy xo
ReplyDeleteSounds as if you have an unusually responsive doctor...few of those left from what one hears. Wish it were possible to send some of our better weather here...hoping for improvement for you in the east.
ReplyDeleteRemember when it was not allowed for women to wear slacks to the office? It was 1950s New York City and I arrived through incredible slush with long pants under my skirt, had to first visit ladies (yes) room to remove them, then figure out where to they could stay to dry for the return home on the subway.
Naomi: Dr. Gerrie -- my shrink -- is a doll. I've known her casually for many years as we belonged to the same parish and our children went to school together. She is very good at what she does.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh! About that slippin' and slidin' on those icy days -- both you and Miss Ruby. She'd get along well with my 12 yr old puddle-jumper, but my effervescent gray ghost wouldn't know what to do in the snow and ice.
