When I read Lia's blog, Yum Yum Cafe, this morning I realized that contemplating New Year's resolutions was not what I needed. The better approach is a New Year's revolution. After an tumultuous 2010 on several levels, it's time to seriously consider some major changes and muster the courage I know I have stashed somewhere in the clutter in my poor damaged brain and move forward.
Happy Blogging!!!
Kay
OK. We're both rolling now. Rolling stones, get it??!! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYeah we are!!! Can't wait to see if we get any cute groupies!!!
ReplyDeleteI read your other blog not all the way back to the beginning, but far enough to think that you have really been through more than your share of hardship. And you have pushed forward, and God bless you. I'm not one for New Year's Resolutions, and I agree that you should look back and say, "Damn, that was something else! And ready for the next chapter. It's certainly going in a better direction." Wishing you a year of laughter, Kay, good hearty laughter!
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of kalipurna before, but I'm sure for staying in the moment and rejoicing in what is. Wish you would consider the Lexapro, but it sounds like you've decided against that. If depression gets too deep, it is so hard to get out from under and it affects our physical as well as mental health.
ReplyDeleteBut, only you know what is best for you.
Did you know that your title says 1/11/2011. Did you mean for it to say l/1/2011? Whatever!
I'm excited to read your small stones! (Writing them sounds like a New Year's Resolution!)
ReplyDeleteMare: God only gives what we can handle or so they tell me so I just holler a bit and then I get down to dealing with whatever fresh hell comes my way. I know I get nutty sometimes but only because I get scared that the bad old days are back. To anyone who criticizes me I say: Walk a miles in my shoes. Thanks for your good wishes.
ReplyDeleteFran: I hadn't either, Fran. As to the Lexapro has some truly awful side effects and those are the ones I get. I don't really think I'm depressed. What I am is disappointed and a bit angry. I'll get over it.
And yeah, I'm gonna laugh!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck in whatever you've got planned for yourself in the New Year Kay. One thing I know....you'll manage anything because of your wonderful determination and beautiful humor. Happy New Year my friend... ~Joy
ReplyDeleteMarty: It's a 31 day commtment. I can do that. If you click on the River of Stones widget in the sidebar you can learn more.
ReplyDeleteJoy: Thank you my dear, dear friend!!! I just have to keep from getting de-railed.
Hey! Happy New Year! Thanks for the Sugar Bowl reminder.
ReplyDeleteJust read an article in L.A. Times by popular writer here bemoaning the fact our Rose Bowl had a team from other than Pac 10 playing against a Big Ten team -- a first this year. Nothing against TCU he said, but thinks they should play in a different Bowl Game.
Rolling stone, you're not going to gather any moss!
Have a peaceful and happy new 2011, Kay. You are such a survivor and a trooper. You are my inspiration. :-)
