Returning to Normalcy

I'm actually feeling better than I have in a while today and I think that I'm getting back to what can laughingly pass for normal in Kay's world. I'm trying mightily to get caught up with y'all but it's not easy. I was stunned to discover that my 'follow' list had over 200 blogs on it. Yikes!!! The good news is that not all of them have a new post every day and a some are dormant. It also tells me that I need to do some house cleaning on my blog. Even so, it's a challenge because I'm as big a pack rat re: blogging as I am in my life. I'm even going to leave my place today and go the materials for a new adventure today and get some much-needed groceries.

* Nance, who is fairly new to my Blogroll, posted this thoughtful commentary in the aftermath of the Tuscon Debacle and adds truly excellent perspective on the victims of this tragedy. She is a wonderfully gifted writer. Please check it out. Here is comment I left:

Thank you for the information on Mr. Fuller. His story and those of the others who were also injured -- while equally important -- have been overshadowed by the Ms. Giffords and the tragedy of the deaths to good people. That offends my sense of fairness greatly.

I think I understand how you feel, Nance. This debacle left me emotionally paralyzed. My own congressman was caught in the cross hairs, too, and received death threats but he didn't get re-elected (and I'll spare you what I think of the Tea Party idiot who won). I'd like to think Loughner will get the help he needs but I live in the real world and know that this may not happen and that concerns me greatly because we have seen time and again how the system (doesn't)works.

That the people who ignited/incited this travesty will continue their vile rhetoric offends my sense of justice greatly and saddens me.

I know that I'm supposed to hate the sin and love the sinner according to the faith I espouse but right now I can't. Maybe time will help.

* Josh at The Reformed Broker made me laugh with his take on social networking.

* Hate Fox News as much as I do? Y'all can sign a petition here. Irresponsible journalism offends me greatly!!!!

* The song for this week is by Warren Zevon whose music I enjoy and the title alone is apropos to what's going on this country.

I hope y'all are getting back to normal, too.

Kay

Glad you are perking up. Your voice sounds better even in your writing!

  2. My grand kids love Warren Zevon, particularly "Warewolves of London".

It was great to see that Palin received a thorough backlash for her senseless video about how SHE is the victim of all this negative publicity. Well, she is now!

  3. glad you are feeling better. It seems to take awhile from what I have been hearing.

I can't believe how many blogs you can follow. Amazing. I don't do the follower thing at all but do appreciate those who say they follow mine. I think I'd go nuts though to try to read too many regularly

  5. you're definitely sounding better. I, on the other hand, seem to be deteriorating, but it's more to do with lack of sleep than anything blogworthy
