Whaddaya Think?

I just "put on a new dress" as you can see. If you haven't tried out Blogger's new template designer, it really is nice and alows you to 'try on' various templates and color schemes. I thought some of the latter were positively bilious probably because I like "low key" given my penchant for little black dresses and I didn't do psychedelic back in the day. I think I like this one although I have to remember to re-size videos or it looks really awful -- not difficult just a minor nuisance. This may not last, I found a video on the new template designer and I'm trying to decide if I'm up to such a major task. In the meantime, I sorta like this. Input is welcome.

This is just the beginning of a more extensive overhaul and I'll be slowly but surely adding pages and moving things around to make my Thinking Cap a tad less messy. And oh yeah, I'm going to update my blogroll. This all, of course, will take a bit of time which is in short supply these days but I've been planning this for a while and I'm determined to get it done.

We have a long list of "gottados" today plus Jeff is needed at the office for some meetings this week so we're busy. Sometimes the 'semi' disappears from semi-retired. Too much togetherness can grate on one's nerves.

Ronni over at TGB had a great post on the Twitter/text thing today. I neither tweet nor text. And my cell phone is for travel and free long distance and I never ever use it while driving. And yeah, the voicemail is a good thing. I guess I'm just not a social network kind of gal. Jeff is worse than I am about it.

I think I posted this before but I still like it.

I'm off and running!!!

Hope y'all are having a great day!!!!

Happy Blogging!!!!!!!!

Kay

Kay, you are soooo brave! As much as I want to change my template, I just don't have the guts. I am so afraid my blog will get lost.

  2. Kay, I like your new template very much. I'm going to be watching to see all your new updates. I'm very sick of mine but haven't taken the time to do anything about it.

I'm fond of having new templates to choose from but not fond of the ones they've offered us. Perhaps I need to watch the video and see what I can come up with.

  3. Kay: I like your new look. It is clean and uncluttered but warm at the same time.
That twitter thing was surreal. What twitter is good for is things like arranging to meet people for business or pleasure and for political organizing, such as organizing rallies and demonstrations. It often is not the waste of time it appears to be. I'm not on it, but I can see why other people are.
I got into an argument yesterday with a friend about Facebook. We have a mutual friend who is in the Peace Corps in Thailand, and I love keeping up with her doings via Facebook. She writes and sends videos and photos. My friend says she has no time for Facebook. I started trying to explain how you use Facebook, but then I thought, no I won't waste her time!
She say she keeps in touch with our friend via e-mail anyway. I was thinking she probably didn't like e-mail either when people first started using it (anyone remember Pine?), and now it seems like an everyday convenience to everyone.

  4. I concur with the others, good choice of template. Glad you are up and about and running around like crazy as always. We are having this heat wave that is making couch potatoes of all of us.

  7. I love the template. Can you change the colors? Wait! Don't answer that; you are very busy with important things and I can look up the answer myself.

I don't twitter or tweet and rarely get around to facebook even though my granddaughters are on it. I should check in oftener.

  8. I like it, especially the birds. I've been trying out the new templates, too. Still not willing to make the leap, though.

  9. I just watched the twitter video. Loved it. As they used to say, "Right on, right on." :)

  10. The new template is nice. I would be afraid to change mine because family in France have dial up computer access and as it is it takes a very long time to download my blog. I have just posted something with Ohio in it and thought about you.

  11. I had to draw the line somewhere so I drew it at Twitter. I'm thinking it's going to go the route of MySpace (which I never understood either)

  12. Hi Kay
Like your new template and that gives me an idea to possibly change mine.

We don't tweet but we do text a bit, however I am ditching the cellphone when my contract ends in August.

I also changed my blog recently, but it was easy on WP-even for me, one of the tech-challenged. I don't tweet, can't imagine tha I ever would. No texting, either, but maybe I would if I had a phone with a keyboard. I think email works pretty well, actually.
    Busy is good!

  14. Hey, I almost thought I was at the wrong place! I like it...I really like it. I've been thinking about changing mine for a while now; but I just haven't looked into it that much...and I'm a little afraid of making changes...but I think I'm ready for a new look. I think I'll have to inquire about it to some 'techie' family and friends. I don't trust me doing it alone.

    Nice job Kay.... Hugs, Joy

  16. Hope you had fun running today. G and I don't tweet, but we do facebook. Why....that's where all the grandkids are. :)

Yes, I like this template. I'm sticking with what I have as it gives me room for three columns plus a white background for my pictures. But I did look at the new stuff.

Wow Kay! I love the new look! It's clean and easy to the eyes. I love the colour palette too!

  18. I like the new look, it's refreshing. I wish I had the "nerve" or the time to change mine. I've been wanting to do it for quite a while now, but I haven't. Nice job.

I’m just stopping in to say hello. Hope you have a wonderful Weekend!

  19. It has an the air of "simple but sophisticated" just like mine. (LOL) No kidding, I like it a lot. Go for it. Heck I can't move my furniture around like I usta, so why not change templates when you get bored.

  20. Of any 100 random templates, probably 45 of them will be too horrible to contemplate; it's always nice to find one or two that meets your needs, though there are times when simply Not Sucking is going to be the best you can do.

This one gets points for simplicity and lack of squint. (If there's anything I hate, it's a site that hurts my eyes.)

  21. I like your NEW Template, very much...The Colors are easy on the eyes...But, speaking of eyes, the Font could be bigger or bolder, for me...But that's just me, my dear....But otherwise it is very very nice!

  22. This is very pretty, indeed. I've changed the look of mine and then reverted back for one reason or another. I finally created another blog just to test out templates on it. Maybe someday I'll try again.
