Updates

Things are hectic but hopefully, I will be around to see y'all -- probably tomorrow -- but I wanted to bring y'all up to speed. I'm not used to getting up at 6:30 am and working eight hours so I'm dragging and will be hitting the sack soon. I also put in some time on getting my cleaning done. Amazing!!!

* Jeff and I had a talk -- as did everyone involved in Saturday's debacle -- and the upshot is no business on weekends. It was deemed that this potential client is a potential nuisance that they don't need. Sometimes the money just isn't worth it.

* The job looks okay so far. Our team leader is pretty cool and we are a motley but interesting and fun group and we covered a lot today in our training. Next week we go out in the field which will be an adventure in bureaucracy in action. If y'all haven't sent in your census form, expect a visit from someone like me. (Please be gentle!) And if you're one of those refusing to send it, guess who it's gonna hurt? They use the data collected to project/determine funding for all sorts of government programs and services from A-Z.

* And yes, I'm still thinking!

Hope y'all have a great day!!!!!!

Happy Blogging!!!!!

Kay

  2. Sounds like a FULL Schedule, my dear....And, incidentally---I filled mine in the day I got it and mailed it the next day. I don't understand peoples reluctance to do this...It's not like you have to share things that aren't already Public Record...Oh Well. I hope things go well for you 'in the field', my dear!

  4. My census form was filled out and in the mail the day I got it...I'm a little anal that way; but I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want to turn it in. What's the big deal? Good luck with your job Kay...hope you don't run into any 'pains in the neck' if you have to go door-to-door. Hope you're getting enough good rest too... ~Joy

  7. Rain: Indeed! Job looks good so far. Jeff and the guys are properly contrite. Us gals got flowers today.

OOLOTH: Not that bad! I think I'll be fine. This week is just a bit hectic because of all the work I have to do here. Next week will be better.

    GFB: LOL Indeed it does!!!

Joy: Having spent most of my life in customer service, I am used to that some people are just plain mean. My strategy is to kill them with kindness -- mostly it works.

Hattie: It's really not interesting but has its moments.
Jeff and Co. are usually pretty good but broke one of their rules and we gals showed them their error!!! LOL

Gigi: It's just a temp job and I hope it goes well. When Jeff leaves, things will quiet down a lot.
