Mea Culpa!!!!

I was just over to visit my dear friend Alice's blog at My Wintersong because her dear husband posted an update on how she is doing and I am properly ashamed for whining this morning. Alice is going through her second round of chemotherapy for this week and having a rather hard time. Talk about hell on earth. However, it reminded me that my problem is nada in the grand scheme of things so I apologize profusely for complaining. I do, however, thank you for your support.

The bottom line is: "Everything that happens happens as it should, and if you observe carefully, you will find this to be so." -- Marcus Aurelius. When I get upset my powers of observation seem to disappear. Old Marcus also said, "The art of living is more like wrestling than dancing." and that I can relate to and understand.

And yes, I'll be around to get caught up on y'all a bit later.

Happy Blogging!!!!!!!

Kay

  1. Old Marcus is right, Kay, but you still get get to be angry about it. It's human nature.

  2. Hi Kay . . . I'm the old bird that drinks too much kool-aid, remember? Geez, the donkeys are flying. About your blog pal. Cancer is tough. Been through a bit myself. My best wishes and a quiet prayer go to her.

Cheer up! Everybody complains on Friday. Must be the fish? If you want an uplift, take a gander at the attached you-tube link. It made my whole day brighter!

  3. Kay, you don't need to offer a mea culpa. Your problems may seem smaller that someone else's, but they are your problems and you have a right to kvetch.

I am trying to get caught up on blogs and just read your last three posts. I do hope it all works out.

I so can relate. Every time when I feel like whining and throwing a pity party, I usually try to stop myself and think that I shouldn't be doing this coz some other people have worst problems than the ones I got.

  5. That is tough for her to be going through and her family too. I think we always run into that situation where no matter how we think our life isn't going well, we come across someone else suffering so much more. I wish her well and you too with working out the work situation. It might be you would still come out ahead economically for working but just not as much as it should be or you would hope it would be. It's very frustrating that the system rewards doing nothing more than working. I have no idea what it profits from to do that :(

  6. I had a dear friend who lost her battle with lung cancer a couple of years ago, and witnessing her last year's struggles was very difficult. Anytime I think that my RA is tough, I know that there are way worse afflictions.
On the other hand, venting your frustrations to your blogging friends can be theraputic. I hope things are looking up for you, Kay.

  7. Please complain all you want. You are a gift in my life even with the complaints. He, I'm the lady who broke her front tooth and her glasses all on the same day. What can I say. LOL I've been complaining ever since.

  8. It's ok to complain, particularly if you recognize (as you do) that it is all relative. If Paris Hilton's chauffeur shows up late, I am sure she thinks her life is ruined.

  9. I just want you to know I think it's okay for everybody to whine whenever they need to, Kay! Every whine is relative.
I'm finally over the bad part and expect good days until a day or two after the 22nd when I do my third round. Then sick days (how many?) and then one final treatment not involving chemo but just part of the cocktail, then the checkup, then three weeks of daily radiation and I think I'll be done. I figure by the end of the summer...thanks for keeping up my hubby's spirits with your encouraging words. I don't make it easy on him at all, but I've never been so sick in my life either! Glad to see you so busy, and I'm curious about your friend's impending visit and need to talk ???

  10. Alice: I just hate it when the "mean reds" as Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn) called them in "Breakfast at Tiffany's." I'm so delighted to hear from you!! Glad you're feeling better. At this point you're getting to be a pro at this 'mierda' (Did hubby learn to cuss en espanol?) I hope all goes well for the next round!

I'll drop you a note soon.
