Happy Chanukah!!!!!

Here's wishing a wonderful holiday to all my Jewish friends as they celebrate Chanukah -- the Festival of Lights which begins at sundown tonight. This eight day celebration is when the Jewish people honor the illuminating light that comes from their faith in God and from their singular dedication to religious freedom which has survived over 2,000 years.

And here's comedian Adam Sandler's Chanukah Song. Can't you tell how much fun he and the audience had with it? It's kind of irreverent but I think he meant it in good fun and if you're one of his fans, you'll see his usual zaniness.

Happy Blogging and Happy Chanukah!!!!!!!

Yes, it is nice to share holiday cheer with those of all faiths. Santa Fe is very catholic, but also lots of alternative spiritual things, too. Old age/new age sort of thing.

Just sent you an email.... about my surprise to you.

  2. I LOVE The Chanukah Song -- heard it yesterday live on the radio and was sitting in my driveway rockin' out! The neighbors no longer suspect I'm crazy; now they have proof positive.

At church today they talked about miracles and I think Chanukah is something we can all relate to. It's anybody's "against the odds" type story, where you can't help but expect a disaster and then ... it doesn't happen.

Happy Winter Solstice and try to stay warm!

    Kay,

I am proud of you for spelling Chanukah properly.

Some modernists leave out the Capital C; but my feeling is this:

We should keep the Christ in Christmas and CH in Chanukah!!!!!

  4. Hattie: Got it! Will write back and thank you properly.

I am sorta kinda very Catholic but I do respect everyone's faith unlike certain other faiths that don't consider Catholics Christians.

Volly: I like it, too -- obviously. When I was in high school, I hung out with the Jewish kids -- most of whom were on the speech & debate team with me so I learned a lot about their faith. My favorite things about them was their sense of humor and their intellect.

Nancy: see what I just wrote to Volly. And yes, you are absolutely right!!!! Only Philistines drop the 'C'!
