Quick Notes

A note is all I can manage today along with The Groaner of the Week in the post below. We're having our citywide "Celebrate Neighborhoods and Candidates Night" and I'll be at the civic center nearly alllllllll day. It's been an ordeal and my resignation from the committee will be forthcoming along with that of two other officers. There's a fine line between leadership and dictatorship and we're done as soon as we go on record as disapproving of certain improprieties which I'll probably rant on later. Even the founder of the committee is considering resigning so you know it's bad.

Yeah, I'm still coughing but feeling better. Looks like the meds have kicked in this time. Hallelujah!!!

I do want to tell y'all about a site I found that is truly outstanding. It's aptly called
Straight Talk on McCain and I spent hours exploring it and its excellent links last night after the author left a comment here on yesterday's post. I think y'all will find it interesting, too, as it addresses some issues that the mainstream media has ignored. When Christopher Buckley, son of the late William F. Buckley and a leading Conservative Republican himself, endorses Obama one has to ask, "What's wrong with this picture?"

And oh yeah, stop by and see Fran at Sacred Ordinary. She has a wonderful Christopher Columbus groaner that I'm swiping for my archives. She calls me her "groaner guru". LOL What a sweetie she is!

Happy Blogging!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. That was a very appropriate groaner for this day and age. Thanks for sharing the groaner and the new blog.

Now Kay, about this straight talk blogger. I can't find any name for the blogger or team mates.

  4. Kay, thanks for the plug. Be sure to click into Rain's site yesterday for the link to this week's Rolling Stone article on McCain. I read a half dozen or so posts on the blog you linked to. Who is its owner, do you know?

  5. I must say I am a bit humbled. What started as a simple blog to educate my sisters in law on McCain has blossomed into something much more. It's my small way of being part of this democratic experiment we call the United States. As for why the posts are researched and usually have citations, well, I'm a librarian. That's just what we do.
