Amid the shuffle of my s0-called life, one of my favorite things is a really good pun as I'm sure y'all know given my love of groaners. As a member of the International Save the Pun Foundation, I was quite disappointed to again be unable to attend the 31st Annual World Championships in Austin, TX. These are held each year in honor of O. Henry's Birthday.
Can you imagine an entire weekend of groooaaaannnns? I sure can. I don't want to be a contestant -- I just want to hang out with others who like word play as much as I do and bask in their skill!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI lived in Greensboro, O. Henry's hometown. There's an elegant O. Henry hotel there. I grew up on his stories. I love "The Ransom of Red Chief" and "The Gift of the Magi!"
