Even John McCain is against the shutdown. (Do note that his former running mate is not.)

Happy Blogging!!!!!

  1. He doesn't have to run again in that party! His former partner hopes to be the nominee on 2016. Lotsa luck since that party really seems to want Cruz. How easy will it be to run to the right of that one!

    1. No he doesn't. I think Silly Sarah is a non-starter & I suspect that Cruz could be, too. I have no use for either. I used to be a centrist (sorta) until the GOP let the inmates take over the asylum.

  2. McCain used to be a good man (well, with a few exceptions). Maybe he's circling back to some of his original positions and precepts.

    1. I agree -- I give him points for taking this stand.

  3. I hate to say this, but I've always kinda liked John McCain, despite his positions on this n that, which I've always kinda hated! And I can't imagine him picking the woman from Alaska for his VP candidate. Some gazillionaire probably put him up to it. Still, he was one of the two solons (Ted Kennedy was the other) you could actually meet on the sidewalks of Capitol Hill. And McCain was always gracious and funny if you stopped to greet him. Kennedy was always in a big hurry, and I'd see him at a distance but never close enough to say hello. The rest of that bunch, especially now, ride around in limos. pfft!

  4. His former running mate should get the hell back to Alaska so she can share a chunk of ice with a polar bear.

P.S. Perhaps Sen McCain is morphing into a senior statesman. Some people can do that, and I'm pulling for him!

  10. McCain might, indeed, be morphing into a statesman. His biggest mistakes were adopting the colors of the far right and accepting Palin as a running mate.

  11. I think McCain sounded kind of mean, actually. He will never be on my "most popular" list.
