Great Words from Carter

My friend Gryphen up in Alaska posted this great quote from a man who has never been given enough credit for being the good man that he is!!!!

His words are what my daddy would have called "more truth than poetry"

Happy Blogging!!!!!!

Kay--IMHO, people do give Pres Carter credit for being a "good man"; but, they see him as a deeply flawed, "soft" person and fail to respect him on that account. He should, again IMHO, always have been a statesman and not let himself be thrust into a position for which he was not well suited. As a fellow (if fledgling) engineer, myself, I cringed and empathized with Pres Carter in those uncomfortable days following Pres Nixon's downfall. I think that Pres Nixon's accomplishments for the common people are not well recognized.

P.S. I voted for neither Mr Nixon or Mr Carter for President.

  4. I agree with Carter's quote, I did vote for Carter. As for being soft, I weary of the bully boys.

  5. He's right on that one. Sullivan calls them christinists and that pretty well says it all as they espouse it to gain power but they're sure not Christians.

  6. I agree, Carter "has never been given enough credit for being the good man that he is." I remember I was the only person I knew who voted for him a second time (1980). Everybody else either voted for Kennedy in the primary, and then sat out the general election, or else voted for Reagan.

  7. I have always thought former President Carter made a better former President than he did a President. And he had the worse bad luck for when he was in office. But if more Christians followed his example I would think better of them and their religion.

  11. Kay, This is off-topic but I was struck by a comment you left on my blog. Left this response back to you (and never sure how/whether these are seen), "Intrigued about fabric art classes. Would you ever post pictures on your blog? Maybe a classmate take a photo or two--which would embolden me to talk more about own fiber projects!"

  14. I have a pantheon of heroes, almost all of them proponents of equality, and Carter is up there. "a good man" doesn't quite do him justice. the comment you posted is an indicator of his compassion and his sense of what is right.
