That's Our Sarah!

I think y'all have heard about the on-going feud between David Letterman and Sarah Palin over a tasteless joke (Is there any other kind on late night TV?) that old Dave made about her daughter, Bristol, age 18, and the Palins went nuts. From what I can figure Dave didn't realize that that she had two daughters and his staff put up Willow Palin's photo instead of Bristol's. (Do we ever hear about her older son?) And Sarah and Todd, over-reacted and decided he was talking about their 14-year-old daughter. No surprise there -- Sarah never misses a chance to get press and, in my not so humble opinion, doesn't give a damn who, why or what or where she gets it. When a body drags her children constantly before the media things like this are going to happen.

YouTube fairly lit up with video. Dave has apologized and has since come up with joke after joke about the Palins and they, of course, are dragging it out, too. This is getting awfully sophomoric and tacky in my mind and all I'm going to do is remind the Palins of President Harry S "Give 'em hell, Harry" Truman's words: "If you don't like the heat, get out of the kitchen." I liked Harry -- we need a guy like him these days.

That said, I found this video that speaks to the situation rather well and I agree with this guy unequivocally.

This has gone on for over six months. I'm tired of it -- are you?

Happy Blogging!!!!!!!!

  1. To me, this is the most dangerous woman to ever come into the political arena. I cannot understand why she has such a following.

As a mother of a gay child it scares that she belongs to a church that prays the gay out of people, My Gawd, she doesn't even have the intelligence to know it is not a choice.

Duetch was right on about her hypocrisy.

  2. I loved it! I didn't know Letterman was still egging her on :)
Harry's quote fit perfectly. Your right, we need more people like him

Palin was in our city, signing her book. I didn't go but our paper had to do a big thing on it (they are sooo big pro republican). It was enough to make you barf :)

  4. Maria, LTTS and Rain: I've been thinking about this post for a long time. Then I found the video and Mr. Deutsch exprsses exactly what I wanted to say but couldn't find the words. That Mrs. Palin puts her daughters in the public eye with glamour shots is not good motherhood; it is self-serving selfishness. I don't know if the videos are still around but there were some pretty trashy ones about Bristol with her friends that speak to her respect for her mother's career and position.

  6. Good old Harry. He gave 'em hell, didn't he? I wonder what he'd have to say about Sarah. I'm sure it would be a gem.

  7. We've seen long lines of people out to meet her and buy her book. Isn't this scary? It sure scares me. How is it there are that many people out there who are fooled by glib words and a pretty face?

  8. I am so tired of Sarah Palin it isn't even funny. I agree with Maria...she IS the most dangerous woman to come in the political arena. As a matter of fact, I think it was a complete fluke that she ever did come into politics. I've never thought she was qualified; but ever since she's gotten her 'self-serving' foot in the door, she's not about to give up without a fight. I think she becomes more and more unappealing and unstable as we all listen to every new drama around her. I couldn't agree with Mr. Deutsch more....she's a terrible example of a good mother; and she certainly is a hypocrite.

  9. I was tired of her five minutes after she was announced as McCain's running mate.

  10. I agree with the video and I'm tired of her speaking and really not saying much instead just getting attention on the backs of any issue she can.

She should go to college and learn about politics and life not snow, ice, fishing, and polar bears..

  11. I'm with Maria. I simply don't understand why so many people think she's great. She's a power hungry fraud.

  12. Indeed, Indeed! I find Sarah Palin unwatchable and unreadable. And incrediblly ignorant. She is everything that I abhor. A Righteous Bigot! There is nowhere to go with someone like that except to try to get a few laughs out of it all....Otherwise, it could drive you nuts!

The Letterman nightly funny is hilarious. 'Things More Fun Than Reading Sarah Palin's Book'....Are they over-the-top? You "betcha".
We need this levity. Without it one would feel like you are going mad in a crazy crazy world---a world that saw Palin almost a Heartbeat Away From The Presidency.
