Something to Think About

Tamar of Mining Nuggets posted these excellent questions and I thought them worthy of passing along. And yeah, I did get mad.

We had eight years of Bush and Cheney, Now you get mad!?
You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.
You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate energy policy.
You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.
You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.
You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.
You didn't get mad when we spent over 600 billion(and counting) on said illegal war.
You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq.
You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.
You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.
You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden.
You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.
You didn't get mad when we let a major US city, New Orleans, drown.
You didn't get mad when we gave a 900 billion tax break to the rich.
You didn't get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.

You finally got mad when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick. Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all okay with you, but helping other Americans ... oh hell no.

I was mad about all of these things and blogged and wrote email and letters. Were you angry? Did you do anything about it?

Happy Blogging!!!!!

Kay

  2. Very good one. All that fake outrage coming from the Republicans over healthcare makes me mad. They should read your list.

I think the GOP outrage regarding health care is based on misinformation. They are doing a great job spreading that misinformation to others who don't know better. Hope this mass hysteria stops.

  4. I may have to borrow that to send to a cousin of mine who is constantly sending me anti-Obama stuff.

  5. good one. It sometimes amazes me but it shouldn't, I guess

  6. Boy, you are in my camp, Kay. I have given up on the intelligence of the human race. Well, of a large percentage anyhow.

I'm with you; the irony of it all.

  7. I didn't write it Tamar got it from a friend and I decided that it needed to be seen by all y'all.
I got mad about most of it -- for all the good it's done.

It's time we stop sleeping and stand up for our rights I hope y'all send it on!!!

  8. Your arguments are coherent and well thought out... unfortunately they are also completely useless. You see, you cannot argue rationally with morons. Facts just confuse them and thinking for themselves is too much work. Why would they (the TeaBaggers) want to, they have FOX and Hannity and Coulter and Limbaugh Beck to do their thinking for them.

The sad thing is these morons are fighting against their own best interest and for the rights of people, more wealthy than they are, who don't give a flying rip about them.

  9. Robert: I know what you mean. However, these are NOT my arguments. I got them from a friend and shared them here because I think the are worth thought. If we're talking government, I don't trust any of them.

  10. I will share this with a few friends who will want it. It makes me crazy when untruths and misunderstandings about the Health Care Reform are sensationalized to cause panic.

  11. Hit the target square in the bull's eye, girl. I don't think the GOP outrage is based on misinformation so much as a philosophy of "I've got mine; to hell with yours." I find it amazing that these guys can argue over Darwinian evolution in nature and then insist on it in economics.

  12. Oh how upsetting this all is...hell yes I'm mad. Any American with a sense of morality and love for this country SHOULD be hopping mad. I just hate the hypocricy. Like Kenju...I have a few relatives who keep sending me anti-Obama things. What in the world are they thinking? I'm making a copy of this.

    Thanks Kay...and have a nice Easter. ~Joy

  14. Some of the same questions I ask people here. Their answer boils down to, "Those things needed to be done."

How do they know? Fox NEWS, Glen Beck and/or Rush Limbaugh told them so.

  15. Joy: I agree completely. It makes no sense. And trying to reason with the people who have drunk the kool-aid is impossible. What bothers/scares me is that so many are around our age and were taught critical thinking skills in school and yet they blindly follow whatever Faux News and their puppets spew. I was taught to question the rationale/sense/logic of things.

Colleen: Good for you!!!! Isn't it fun watching them squirm and try to weasel around when cornered and can't?

  16. You bet I was mad, Kay, but it didn't seem to get us anywhere. I'm still mad. Do you think things will change much?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Alice: Frankly no, because those in power and wealth don't give a damn until it effects them. Until the Great Depression affected very rich people, nothing was done. And that, my friend, is why we bailed out the banks. It wasn't for you or me; it was to keep the rich rich.
